Arizona Custom Knives ??

Maybe it would be better for her to post a sign on the site, "Closed until further notice", or something like that. It would avoid member's frustration at leaving messages or ordering stuff that seems may never be.

I received an Email from one of our members. Cody. Not sure who that is on the forums, but that's okay. He thought that my post which states that Julie is honest, would lead more folks to pull up the site, punch in their credit card numbers and lose their $$. He basically chewed me out. That's a first for me from a forum member. It's usually my wife's job.

On the other hand, like most objectors, Cody has some valid points. For that reason, I feel the need to clarify my post and my opinions on this topic. I might have gone too far in stating that Julie is as honest a dealer as you'll find. That's a heavy claim to make for a person that I have not known personally or for a very extended period of time. My intent when I typed that was to make the point that the deals themselves have been good values, not ripoffs. I also meant to express my opinion that Julie's motivation is not fraudulent in nature. Anyway, that's what led to my comment about her honesty and I do admit that the comment was too strong for a person that I haven't gotten to know very well. Sorry about that. I hope this clarifies my comment, satisfies Cody, and makes the world a better place.

I hate to hear about the state of AZCK. It was a great site when the Sadows ran it. I have had some dealings with Julie Hyman and I also think that she was honest. I just think that she did not have a strong knife background and it showed. For instance, I noticed that she was listing some Taiwan made Joe Pardue folders along with his customs.

My dealings with her have been cordial. She once accepted a knife that I decided that I didn't want with no problems at all. I also bought a One-Eyed Jack by A.T. Barr from her only to find that the knife I recieved did not match the picture she had on her site. The knife I got was polished G-10 and the one I wanted was jigged bone. I let her know, but I ended up keeping the knife because I just liked it, furthermore, it was on sale and the price was right.;)

I hope that ACZK survives because it was a nice set up.

Well...since we are all getting sentimental about the old AZCK. I'll tell you what I miss -- those color coded dots next to makers' names showing new knives. If no one else had anything new, you could always count on AZCK to have a new colored dot showing new knives. Now...I hardly go to AZCK, cause they haven't had anything new in over a month and hardly get anything in.

Hope it kicks back up soon. One less site I get to check for new stuff just takes the fun out of searching the web.

I have never dealt with AZ Knives, but Ed Caffrey has a nice mosaic bowie/fighter for sale on another forum because he's been waiting for a check from Arizona Knives for a couple of months. Guess that says enough about that.

Last I talked with Julie (about three weeks ago) she confirmed that she was in the process of moving to Alaska. Her house was sold and things were packing up. She did say that the business would be down for a while until the move was finished.

That said, she should have put in a note on the site or at least an auto-responder.

Wow, this is one heck of a good way to destroy a formerly great business: ignore your customers, ignore your suppliers, don't leave a note or any forwarding address. Sheesh....

Para, a happy customer of the 'old' AZCK who will never place an order with the 'new' AZCK (Absolutely Zany Crazy and Kooky)

That's too bad, her credibility has really been hurt. :(

A lot of makers and collectors are wondering if they will get their knives or their money. When you do business over the Internet, nothing is more important that good fast communication.

IMO, it's going to take a >>>lot<<< for her to rebuild this business.

Although Arizona isn't exactly located in Alaska, is it?

I suppose that they both begin with "A" is scant solace...

Amazing!
The sad part is that because she's "cute", all will be forgotten as soon as she starts dealing again.
It's a MAN'S nature!
I'm getting fixed!!:D

I've never seen her so I don't know how cute she is:p but it really doesn't matter- I don't mix women with my knives or guns. This was my first dealing with her and my last, if she ever responds to my emails or sends me the knife it better be with one great apology and not charge me for shipping or else there will be a whole different discussion started with her.

Shame how love always seems to come in between a man and his toys. :grumpy:

At least she's consistent.
No posts here and none at her knife business for the past several weeks!

Guys, give her a break. She is not ripping anyone off. She does not have your money. Just because you put your card on file for an order does not mean that the card has been processed. Sure it was a mistake not close the site during the move, but its not the end of the world.

As to not mixing women with knives or guns. Get real. I know Julie and have spent a fair bit of time with her. She is a very nice and easy going person.

When you guys put down the money to buy a knife business then you can run it your way. Julie was the one to put down the money and shes been doing a fine job with AZCK.

I just sent you an email at the address on your website, and this is what came back...

"Thank you for your interest in R.W.Clark Knives. Please be aware that I will be out of the shop and not checking my e-mail until Monday March 17."

Maybe you could help Julie out with her little 'auto-responder' problem... ;)

(In the mean time, I need to know if you have any pics from the BAKCA show that you could email us? Thanks...)
