Arizona Custom Knives ??

Only half of that statement is correct! A "fine job"? I must have missed something here! She has a lot to learn yet! And she will.
Your right about another thing. She has the right to run the business as she see's fit. OTOH, as customers, we have a right not to like it.
I don't think people here are accusing her of ripping them off.

From what I've heard about Julie, from people who know, she is more than fair to those she deals with.
This is just a very relevant discussion about how a once very reputable internet knife business is currently being run by it's new owner.
From what I've seen in BladeForums in the short time that I've been a member is that most members are also very fair in dealing with people and she will recover from this "fine job" she's doing!

Mel-

I just got off the phone with Julie, and your contact information is right on. She is in the process of contacting her customers now to get things straightend out.

She will probably post here soon and fill everyone in on her details. Things should be up and running soon for Arizona Custom Knives (Alaska division :))

Julie recently sold a knife for me that I had had for a while. When she handed me the check for $1,000.00 I thanked her and told her how glad I was to move that knife even though I had paid $1,200.00 for it. She said, "That is exactly what I received for it, so you can have another $200.00 and won't be losing anything." I thanked her again and refused the offer. Julie is OK in my book.

I talked with Paul Basch today and he has been in touch with Julie by phone. She is having a tough time right now but not financially. She moved to Alaska and a personal deal went sour and she has to get that worked out and will probably move back.

So try to give her some slack, as I think she will make all her deals OK with those involved. Love is a bad mistress and makes you do crazy things.

I personally feel she is not a bad person.

Best regards,

Rhett Stidham

Personally I have had nothing but great dealings with Julie. So she made a big change in her life and a few people wont be ordering anything from her. Thats too bad, because when she gets settled in I am confident she will get everyone taken care off as fast as possible. I wish her the best of luck!

FWIW...

I bought an Obie from Julie about six months back. I liked that I could put it on lay-away...and I liked a lot about her site and the navigation of same better than some others that might be mentioned.

Anyway...we emailed a few times and spoke on the phone a few times. She was always friendly to a fault, curteous, and professional. When I paid off the knife...I got it very quickly.

So...one deal with her...and it went very well. If I was expecting a knife or a check...I might be POed, however. Otherwise...I'd cut her some slack.

I look at it this way...if her site were down...we would all be going..."what's happened to Julie?" "I hope she's ok." "Has anybody heard from her?"

Since it's just been sitting there...we tend to say "She needs to work on her business skills" and so on. Really, what's the diff?

If she gets the site back up...and has a knife I want...at a fair price...I will deal with her...(this assumes sufficient funds on my part).

Ouch. Moving, major personal problems, then moving back? That hurts.

I'd tend to agree... give her some time.

I am glad to hear everything is working out..
Julie is a great gal, and hearing this just blew me away.. Anyway, sounds like she will be up and running again soon...

I got a phone message from Julie last night, and returned her call this morning. She sounded pretty worn down, but was calling me to say she was sorry about not getting a bowie from me that she had asked for, and asked if I would still sell it to her. She told me that she is WAY behind on things, and as mentioned previously, she's just going through a really tough time right now. From the tone of our conversation, it was obvious that things are difficult for her right now........I hope, and belive she'll bounce back. I admit that I was a bit miffed when our deal fell through, but remembered how difficult it's been for me as a maker this past year with spending time in "The Desert" and being way behind on things....best to give folks the benifit of a doubt.....someday I may be in the same situation!

Julie was more than pleasant to me in an e-mail when I inquired about getting a piece when it came in from the maker. She said she would put me down and thanked me.

We are not all perfect, sometimes sh.. goes wrong. Cut people some slack every now and then. Just because she is a female doesn't mean a darn thing. As far as her "cheesy" letters, it shows to me that she truley enjoys what she is doing.

Have you ever made a mistake or gotten down in a point in your career or personal life? I believe there is only one person that was perfect and he walked on water.

I guarantee you that if the knife you want suddenly pops up on her site or she contacts you, more than likely you will buy it from her! I have received broken promises and worse service from more "established" sites that play favorites. I would buy from Julie in a heartbeat if she called and said the knife I inquired about was available.

You know I got a similiar message from her on Monday about my order & despite my original inclination I decided to proceed with the purchase of it. By Thursday when it still hadn't shown up I emailed her (her Voicemail is still full) still no knife, no email, no call. I certainly understand personal problems, I have been screwed more than a couple of times in relationships (not in the good way) so I would like to give some slack but at this point unless I get a really nice apology from her and a refund for the $11 shipping for the month + wait I can't see ever doing business or recomending her to anyone else. Despite what R.W. Clark says, and I have dealt with him several times happily, my CC has been charged and as a customer or a potential customer even @ this point I think we have every right to voice some serious complaints, but maybe I have just been spoiled dealing with Bladeart and TAD gear.....

Hi Everyone,

Where do I begin??

First my most deepest apologies for keeping everyone in the dark and not getting things done in a timely manner.

I made serveral mistakes personaly and business wise that obviosly will hurt me for a very long time. I must say in my defence that they all have reasons behind them with a tremendous amount of sincerity. Also I have never not paid anyone and have always tried my best to follow up. It makes me sick to think that so many question my honor when I have tried so very hard to always be accomitdating and do the right thing for my bussiness and her customers.

I must say that I am terriably hurt by much of what I have read here.

Yes I did log on serveral times to respond but couldn't. To be honest I sit here not knowing what to say... How can anyone repond to the cuts of my looks, my integrety, my site and my sex?????? Even now it has taken me an hour of writting and errasing just to get this far.

If I have wronged you or you are dissatified with anything that I have done I would be happy to try and make you satisfied. I know that contact with me has been difficult. I apologize for that. My phone messages were supposed have been forwarded to my new # and obviosly were not.

As one customer said " I have gone on an adventure that did not work out". I addmitt to this. I will also go on and try to repair the damage that I have caused. I read this in one of the responces to this forum. Of course I like it becuse it is from John Wayne but also because it applys to my situation.

“Life is tough, but it’s tougher if you’re stupid.” -- John Wayne in "The Sands of Iwo Jima”

Corollary 1: If you do something stupid, it helps to be tough, and to shoot with both eyes open.

I will try and follow this advice to the best of my ability.

I must explain that I am returning back to Florida. I will be going by way of the Dallas Texas show. Communicating with me will be difficult. I will still be able to be reached by e-mail though. I will be on the road so some times internet access is difficult. It has been and always will be my intentions to take of my customers and friends. Always!!

Again I apologize for the inconvience that this has caused everyone.

As always, all the best,
Julie

Hi Everyone,

I have just a few more things to say.

I wanted to thank everyone that has been a friend and supportive for me. It means more to me than you will ever know.......

Also with out mentioning names the customer that I have so wronged(a $45 knife) has been sent a free one. I am not saying this to be smart but to make the point that I will and belive that I have in the past done my best to make the situation as right as I can.

All the best,
Julie

I would just like to say that in my post I made a point to say that I never doubted your honesty. I did get the impression that you were a bit new to the knife business though. Inexperience is no sin and I think that your communication with the forums will go a very long way to setting all things right with AZCK.:)

Hi Julie:

If you were the only one to "fall on your face", there may be room to criticize. We all have been there and done that, only some are not mature enough to admit it.
From what I can glean from those who I trust, you will do what is right.
Hope to meet you in person at the Spirit of Steel show this month.

Hang in there
:D :D

You have a lot of moxie, Julie!
As I said before, the people at this forum seem to be quite fair, also.
You will recover from this and I for one will enjoy looking at some new knives at your site when that time comes.
Everyone deserves a second chance, or third, or fourth!:)

Julie,
Just wanted to say that I'm glad to hear you're OK and that AZCK will go on. We've only done business once and that was just a $65 book, but I was impressed with your committment to customer service.

Can't say as I know Julie or have ever done business with her, but I do know that bad things can happen to good people. It looks to me like this is what has happened to Julie.

Julie, I hope that things start to go well for you. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade...or something like that.

just think Julie being in Florida you will be closer to that Blackwood fella ;) Glad to here things are on the mend .

Good luck !
