I'll most likely have several with hand rubbed blades to. I'm still trying to figure out how I'll get my knives there. I'd take them with me as luggage but I change planes one time.
I'm really glad you're bringing some forge finished blades. They intrigue me, and I can't wait to handle them up close![]()
It looks pretty neat to me.
My guess is a W's damascus core san mai, which was then pressed with a West Texas Wind set of dies and ground clean... So all you see is the Texas wind pattern in the core, fading out into the plain carbon or ss sides.... I'd bet a wooden nickel on that anyway.![]()
Lin- That is some fantastic work!!! Wish I could be there to see it in person!!!!
Really sounds like a fun show!![]()

I'll probably be bringing this from my humble abode.![]()

Here is something that you may be interested in concernig this show. From now till the Arkansas show, some of the local Custom makers and collectors will be featured in several live TV spots as well as recorded programing and even a live 1 hour radio call in program heard statewide. It's all in promotional effort toward the show.
Some actual knives that are finished and available for viewing will be shown on the TV spots. Door passes will be given away to certain callers, etc. A local TV celebrity ("Wildman" Steve Wilson")has taken a great interest in the world of custom knives and will be at our gala/reception Friday evening and with his help, these promotions are possible. His film crew has recorded a lot of footage of forging, grinding, as well as some of the aspects of the JS and MS tests.
If you live in Arkansas, you are likely to see clips of makers you know on news segments, or Saturday morning outdoor sportsman program"(Talkin' Outdoors at the Corner Cafe") . He is seen at times on all three local stations throughout the week so it will be great coverage and promotion of the show.
