Arkansas Custom Knife Show 2013 - Show Us what you Got

Interesting grind indeed, Don. That long pointy rascal's as sweet as they get.

Let me study that one in Little Rock.

John

Arkansas Show Sendero

This knife is to be sold at the Arkansas Custom Knife show in Feburary.
This Sendero has to be held to appreciate the feel and balance. The stag shape is what called a "saddle" shape, meaning it is thinner in the center with both ends being a bit thicker. The Sendero is one of the best designs to use in "Bushcraft" of in the field hunting or just looking dang good in a collection.

Arkansas show Game Master hunter

This is a great hunter. It is heavier duty than the Sendero for heavy work in the field.
The handle is some beautiful fossil Walrus ivory and has the first escutcheon plate I have inlaid in a couple of years. {I had forgotten how much time they took}. I will be engraving on this one with deep relief and it ought to look really well when finished. When you whup this one at out at camp people will remember it.

Arkansas show Selva folding bowie

This is for delivery to the Arkansas Custom Knife show. This is my Selva model with a bowie blade. These will all be one off pieces.
Folding knives is something you can carry around with you and enjoy using. It can also be called pocket art. You cannot always carry a painting or a statue around with you to show art that you collect but you can always have a nice folder in a small sheath that fits in your pocket, on a blet or in a purse.
The Selva comes in the folding bowie style or a folding hunter style.

Wish I could attend :(

Here are a few that I will be bringing to the show.
matched pair.jpg
These are a matched pair, froged from W2 with walrus ivory handles from the same tusk.

I used some nice beach wash ivory I have had for about 3years for the handle of this one.

The fittings on all three of these are blued damascus.

Man, would that make a pretty partner to the engraved Game Master I picked up at last year's show . . .

And wow, would I love to have a chance to hold Don's super-long swife (or is it a kniword?) in my hand!

Youse guys are killing me here. Every knife is like another dagger in my heart for missing this show. Ouch!

One of the top two or three knife-related things I have enjoyed is just looking over all the tables in the back at the Gala the night before the Arkansas show, taking in all of the goodness. Just imagine seeing the beauties on this thread, and more, all together in one place . . .

I hope someone will post pictures from the show. And I'll be thinking about it for sure as I am making the drive back home from Charlottesville at 0-dark-thirty.

Y'all have fun!

WOW! I can't say that I remember a show with more spectacular knives being brought to it. Friday night is certainly going to be something special.

I envy those of you who have everything ready. :) It may be Thursday night before I can say that.
