Arkansas Custom Knife Show - Preview of makers and knives

One more folder this one is a delivery. Fine bunch of bowies to see. So looking forward to this

Safe travels everyone
See everyone soon

This a is a large Camp Knife with an 11 inch blade, 416 stainless and bronze fittings, and Maroon Micarta. It is a take down. I will have it at the show this weekend.

Very nice Lin. I can't wait to get a hold of that one. I love maroon micarta, it looks great with a finish like this but also with a high polish, love how Loveless did it.

I'm going to post this here as it does follow along with the topic.
This is the Damascus on one of the knives I'm bringing along for delivery at the show. I'm putting it here because many of you will not be able to see it later.
It's a bit difficult to photograph.
Even though it truly is only single twist Damascus - it really is rather spectacular.
it's a 324 layer tight twist. And I twist it fully in the forge at welding heat.
I've only been able to get this degree of chatoyance maybe 4 or five times. The first time I did it I won both Best Damascus and Best in Show at Larry Bailey's Ohio Classic Knife Show.
Twisting it in the forge at full welding heat for the entire twisting process results in character that almost has to be seen in person to appreciate.
In the tight areas of the twist it has these tiny "wisps", and from the first time I saw it I named the pattern "Wispy Twist".
Anyway - I did manage to catch in the light just right while in the shop tonight and wanted to share it on this thread.
This is on the Fighter I showed earlier with the wrought iron fittings:

Just some great work coming together for this show. One of my favorites. Looks like a better chance at picking up a folder than in years past. Love the variety we are seeing in this thread.

Lin, that camp knife is all kinds of cool, as Roger stated. Looks like it means all kinds of business, too. I really like it.

So much good stuff rolling in. Terrific work, Tad. Karl, that Damascus looks killer - no doubt the owner will be tickled.

WOW! There's going to be quite the selection to look over this year. It's going to be hard to stay behind my table and not be out looking at everyone's work.

Thanks to all for sharing. I look forward to seeing you there.

Gary

Good looking work guys, too many to name.
Keep it warm and I'll see you this weekend.
Fired up!

Accuracy beats speed

Well this will probably be the last one I get done. Lin gave me some lessons in forging guards last year so I put it to use on this one. Again pardon my cell phone pics, that will be remedied in LR.
