As a hard user of knives, I worry about KAI's direction.

There was a thread on Memorial Day and a guys was wanting a 560 lol. KAI corp popped in and just asked for an adress and sent him one:)
 
Can't wait for the 0770 and 0801. I am going to use the hell out of them and having fondled an 0801 I am confident it will take a licking and keep on ticking. :)
 
I suspect, based on what I have seen online, that collectors are a far more profitable market than actual users. Users don't much care how the box looks upon arrival, they care about the knife. Collectors are obsessed with how the paperwork that comes with the knife is creased.

As a collector I can say thats not true. Also as a user, I care about my boxes.

More profitable for the collector or KAI?

If you're thinking KAI you'd probably be wrong as far as I know (case in point 0777). Limited Edition exotics are an aesthetic and technological showcase and sometimes testing grounds, within limits, depending on whether the LE precedes the Regular Production. Two different examples: 0777-0770 and 0801-0801CF.

Not really. Generalities and personal opinions can result in such conclusions.

Even if that's the case, so what? :confused: Provided no laws are broken, people have the right to buy what they want in the condition they want with their own money and do with it as they please.
