At what point do you consider a knife "expensive"?

for me, a knife becomes expensive when I don't really have a need for it, and yet I WANT it badly. :D

I'm going to say $400.
Though I have 2 Hinderers that cost more, plus one I bought for someone else, I guess to me $400 is the point where I would say if I lost this knife, I wouldn't replace it.
 
voted for $50+ because there was no $25+ category. lol
i often carry a pocketknife and sometimes use a machete at work. given how many pocketknives ive lost over the years i would never carry one i was afraid to lose; statistically speaking its virtually certain i will lose it over time. no point in losing an expensive knife when a cheap one is just as gone lol.
and high quality machetes are available for around twenty bucks so more than that is expensive to me. its a purely functional calculation.

though i suppose id spend more if the knife was a gift for someone.
