August 2024 BOTM - 113 Ranger Skinner, S35VN, Scalloped Richlite

Would like to see another attempt at a boot knife. Something thin and similar in design to the latest Buck Master, with a simple sheath that is thin and can clip into the top of a boot. I think my request of a Goliath TRX has a better chance of fruition but one can always dream. I bought a lottery ticket today too.

Of the 79 BOTMs to date, only 5 have been priced below $99 - not qualifying for free shipping. If Buck would offer up a sub $99 knife I would bet most buyers would add some additional knives or merchandise to their cart to get the free shipping. It would be a good way for Buck to sell some additional inventory. I'd like to see a 110 LT with a hi vis orange, yellow or green handle and a S35VN clip point blade for about $89.99!
Or maybe a 110/112 set, to bring it above $99

Maybe a nice gold glitter acrylic handle material. Something like this.

Hi David,

Maybe my mind has been warped by reading too much banter over in the traditional forum, but I honestly can't tell if you're joking about the gold glitter acrylic or not. Personally, it doesn't appeal to me at all. But if Buck were to release a USA made canoe in a traditional steel (no powder metallurgy with Vanadium Carbides) with those scales, I'd still buy it. And as soon as I pulled it from the mailbox the scales would be off within the hour to make room for something else. :)

When does the BOTM typically come out? IIRC the may and july ones came out fairly early but perhaps that was due to the specific day themed knives? (May 4th, July 4th)

Any day is fair game, but they seem to avoid the weekends. I don't think there's a preference for a particular time of the month, but someone else might have actual release dates.
