Back to the BOTM.

I like this knife.
I don't plan to get one.
But I applaud Buck for coming up with something different.
We all have different likes, and items like this keeps me interested in what coming next.

Is it just me or does that knife look like a folder that doesn't fold? Not being familiar with that model I had to do a double take. Maybe that's the idea.

And there are some of the slip joints which may never have been BOTM. I would love to see a USA made canoe+trapper pairing, hopefully with magnacut () and either matching elk, jigged bone, or micarta. The nice materials may raise the price into the correct range for the set. If such a thing were to be possible, it would be interesting to see what kinds of pairings can be done with nicer materials and at a similar price point (less than $200) for the set. A lock+slipjoint may be another option or fixed+folding. As cool as it would be, I'm not sure a canoe or trapper really need Magnacut instead of S30V BOS. If needed, the different knives could use different steels so long as they look similar and still have some upgraded steel appropriate for those blades.

It's a fixed blade version of the 110 folder.

I wasn't familiar with it either until I did a little digging. I think the similar look is the idea, to just be a fixed version of the 110.

It's the same thing as a 110 except a straight blade.

I love my 110, it’s shape is a compromise to make it work as a folder. I do not like it as a fixed blade.

But it is a great different BOM. Hope all who want one get one.

I thought that this would sell out faster being a 101, discontinued, good steel, drop point, and unique handle. Judging by comments here the 101 is not as popular as I had thought. Guess that's why it was discontinued...duh
