Just finished Las vegas, it was a good one!!

And James, for 14.99 that knife is made of aluminum foil :D but if you dont have it you wont survive

Tracking shows my knives from Crimson should be here Monday!!!

Im ready to beat on some 3V and see whats its talking about. Im gunna make it tell me all its dirty little secrets. :D

Went to bed earlyish and have been up multiple times in the night. Seems my Son decided to join us in bed from a bad dream. Over my wife's snoring and my sons feet in my back I needed to get up.

WW I would love to hear your impressions of 3V! I have read some good things about it :)

Our son comes in our room occasionally still as well. It doesnt take a bad dream either, if he gets up and goes to the bathroom in the middle of the night he will normally go and lay down with momma afterwards.

I dont sleep much but when i am in there laying down and he comes in im a softy and ill let him cuddle up with me. I normally end up climbing out of bed after he falls asleep.

And i will for sure let you guys know what i think of 3V, ill do a little playing with both the knives as soon as they get it, Then i will put them through a full review when i get back out in the woods in April. Ill be testing out 3 or 4 choppers then.

I don't mind the night snuggles. Figure I get to enjoy them while they are still small enough to do that ;). It just hard to fall back asleep sometimes after he gets comfortable lol.

Was looking at the CS Warcraft Tanto in 3V. I just don't see the practicality in that blade design for a survival style knife. Could buy a 9, 3, and 11 for that price.

yea i never been into tanto blades much... But talk to Crimson bud, he can hook you up! I drew a picture and showed it to him online and he made the knives! great price and awesome communication. Sent loads of work in progress pictures too so i could see the progress.

This year with #3 arriving my knife budget has been spoken for. I'm thinking next year will be an excuse for a nice custom :)

I don't mind tanto blades for select purposes. Slicing cardboard, opening letters, stabbing things. Love my ZT0700. For other daily uses I prefer a traditional blade style or a recurve.

That reminds me of one of those "rambo" style marketed knives that I used to see in flea markets when I was a kid :)

CPM-3V is wonderful stuff. If I could only use one alloy for knives for the rest of my career, it would be 3V.

Damn, I want that Rocky Mountain knife... Only 14.99 for a paracord bracelet! :D

Yeah, except the S&H is $7.50 PLUS another $7.50 if you want the bracelet... so it's $30 for 20' feet of paracord and a buckle. It does come with a free sharpener, sparkmaking thingamabob and a knife-shaped object, though :p

In other news, I don't know how anyone makes any money off cord bracelets... I see 'em at the checkout at Home Depot/Lowe's etc for $3-4.

I can't tell if they're actually making them again or if someone just found a warehouse full of them left over from the 80's :D

Good to know about the 3V!

Hah! Just imagine buying a foreclosed warehouse and it being stacked with nothing but boxes of those things lol. I would construct a place setting for my dining room table using those as the steak knives lol! I would also be giving one to each person in my family for every birthday / Christmas for the rest of my life (as a gag gift because I could lol).

G'morning Gus. I'm doing great this beautiful Sunday morning. How are you sir?

Enjoying a cup of coffee and trying to not cough up a lung - lol. This cold is miserable. You got any plans for the day?

My only plan for today is watching Walking Dead at 9pm. Other then that, its a daddy daycare kinda day!

I'm going to practice my orientation skills with my new "NSA proof" compass.

Currently ripping a bunch of DVDs and loading them up to an external hard drive. Looking forward to catching up on some movies during our trip next week.

I think we're some last folks that actually go to a video store and rent DVDs. There's a little eclectic place down the street where the owner curates a staggering selection of movies. There are almost no mainstream new titles, but it's not a stuffy "only serious movies" kind of shop. The store's motto is Rent, Rip and Return - that way you can watch the films at your leisure. The owner also hosts a movie night at a local bar every third tuesday of the month. This month's film is Frankenhooker - gotta love the classics!

My shovel isn't here yet. I've been throwing the garden rake but it's just not the same.
