Böker Plus Kwaiken Flipper Folder

Just picked mine up from the PO, today. Thanks, Blade HQ!

Boker, great knife- quite impressed. Fit and finish is spot on, scales and grinds match up, centered blade and no bite from blade tip when closed. Not as smooth as the non-flipper, but hope to work it in. All in all, this is how a knife is put together. Well worth the wait.

I like the heft of this one, but would love to see a carbon fiber scale version- or just a lighter weight one.

I completely disassembled it just for curiosity. there is a thin layer of oil in between of the frame and scale. I wiped it clean. the balls look like ceramic but I am not sure. I have some Tungsten Carbide balls from my RC cars that can be used as alternative to OEM ones, I may want to upgrade to it.
if you want to get rid of the Ti scales, you can save 45g of weight. but you need to add washers to adjust blade center

last but not least, I think I might strip the pivot screw (due to thread lock applied). not sure where to get one from.

I'd love to see a smaller version with a ~3" blade and the weight cut down to about 3oz. That would be a perfect edc (for me).

I ordered one from knifeworks about 2 weeks ago, but they sent me the wrong knife and now they're out of stock.

Can't find one anywhere.

I will say this--my brother was on a waiting list at one of the big etailers, and I received the knife a couple weeks ago (he wants me to do some custom work to it). The build quality is not up to the level of my first TI Kwaiken; the blade is off center (which I may be able to address), the knife had dirty fingerprint (it was factory sealed), and there were a couple thin scratches on the blade (gonna stonewash it anyway).

So true to form, it seems like another Boker is hit or miss. I think they're probably rushing to satisfy the backorders.

Try amazon marketplace... Look it up by model number... I found one listed as a boker flip knife.. Correct pic correct part #..

Received another one in the mail today, and it's blade is straight and all seems well with the knife.

I've gone hit and miss several times with Boker. I think I should only buy Boker knives in person, when I can pick from a batch.

I've had pretty good luck with my Boker knives. The ones from Solingen, Germany have been world class. These are Minos and Pipsqueak. The Taiwan made Kwaiken flipper is great. The Chinese made Manaro Bullseye had issues but Boker got me a good checked one. The Chinese made GTC Federal is great. The Chinese made orange Kwaiken is okay.

The Solingen ones are expensive but I put it up against anything out there. I'm looking forward to picking up some 145th Anniversary editions.

Noticed that BladeHQ has the Boker Kwaiken Carbon Fiber Flipper Knife (3.5" Smokewash) Exclusive 01BO299 coming soon.

This may have been covered but if I got the ti version and the green scaled version could I swap the scales? I like the flipper but not the ti scales and I like the green micarta scales on the standard version so my plan would be to try and get the green scales from boker or someone who would want to trade any othe ideas would be appreciated.
