If I was in the market for a general camping/woods knife that could handle almost everything I might need it for, but isn't too huge, what knife would you all recommend? It seem a lot of you have experience in this area!

Like others have said the BK16 or any of the tweeners really. Also ESEE 3 or 4 but you will be paying more. The sheath on the tweener series is also really nice compared to the other Beckers. The ESEE's come with micarta handles and a good sheath system already.

jwest, check out the Becker BK16.

x2 on the bk16- it's an extremely comfortable and capable blade

Haha, thanks guys! I may add it to my Christmas list...and I'm always up for spending LESS money!

Seeking advice.

I would like to get a flipper like a Kershaw for my main folder and I like the looks of the Cyro 2 so what do you all think of this one as a main folder? I am willing to look at other models but dont want any with recurves or anything over 3 inch blade length. I havent checked out the Cyro 2 for blade length yet so hope it is close to 3 inches.

Thx.

Hey guys, another update- the kabar mk1 arrived with a surprise included (a cool little S&W navy knife in a little presentation box), it was so well packed up after opening it to check it out I added in a few 100' lengths of para-cord I knew they could use, a .50BMG bottle opener I made and some smelly girl stuff my wife had for Valerie and we forwarded the package onto Val and Matt in Alaska (the newly wed & newly expecting sister & active navy bro-in-law of my good friend Eddie)

Also I shipped the pair of SiC stones to NCCNC today, sorry that took so long man (expected Friday), I spent quite a bit on shipping everything and I didn't have a paycheck come in last Friday when it was promised so I couldn't cover it till I finally got paid yesterday night. I know there are atleast 2 other people still waiting on other stuff as well, NCCNC's was the only package that was late going out so if your expecting anything from me it will be there any day now.

Do you like heavy knives? Its quite heavy for its size. I wouldn't carry it cause of weight but they're very fun to mod, lots of potential if your into tinkering.

Just got Manofletch's Buck Bantam in the mail, love it. Perfect size for EDC, very light weight and the smoothest lock back I've ever opened. Couldn't be happier.
Thank you so much.

Jade chicken for scale and quarter to scale the chicken. :D

Yeah, I dont like too heavy for EDC so are there other models of Kershaw flippers that would fit the bill but be lighter...with good blade steel? :)

Zapp and lemepris, your packages have shipped. Email me if you want/need the tracking numbers.

I like the looks of the Skyline better but the Leek is okay. I didnt think they would be around $45-50 though! Is the "Speedsafe" better to have? The Skyline doesnt have it? Thx. :)

I personally don't care for the speedsafe. I like the Skyline better than the Leek

I think the Skyline is better for me at least as an EDC knife. I also see there are different scale colors around and I like an orange one but not a deal breaker! LOL

Any one know who has the best price on one?? :)

kershawguy.com always has great prices. Blade HQ is my preferred shop mostly because they are local to me.

Received the Hogue EX-02 from Cutter17. Wow one massive folder. Can't thank cutter enough for his generosity. Sol try to post a picture later.

NYOutdoors and Simple Man - hope you don't mind if i share your generosity with the thread. Items arrived today, and i don't really know what to say other than THANK YOU!!!

Simple Man offered to make 2 strops to pay forward, i was too slow to claim one. He generously made a third and sent it to me, giving of his time, money, and talent. I used it on my gayle bradley today and it is hair popping once again. Just amazing.

NYOutdoors, behind the scenes with no recognition, bought me my first Becker. Not only that, he also included a mora, and a kydex sheath! (when you said there would be a surprise in the mail, i had no idea it would be something like this). I know of several other situations like this where others are giving behind the scenes, this thread is truly inspiring. Thank you again guys, you put a huge smile on my face today :)
