YOWZA!!!!. . . We have been hit hard lately with threads and posts concerning some seriously sub-par edges that have passed through our doors.

The most recent shot came from our friend Peter on a Nuclear KZ. The edge looks embarassingly dull or unsharpened.

We are fixing this issue and I will no longer allow this to happen. We spend enormous amounts of time making every knife as perfect as we can. To then take well deserved hits about final edge sharpness strikes me as moronic on our part. Being the head moron doesn't help any, but I can assure you that dull edges will soon be a part of Busse history.

Peter,

All I can do is apologize and assure you that this won't happen again. Having checked the entire last batch of KZ2LEs myself that went out, I can tell you that the problem is definitely getting fixed. We are in the process of adding several new grinders that are speciffically designed for sharpening.

I am furious that a bull crap edge, like the one you have pictured, has left my shop!

I will contact you directly about rectifying the problem.

Thanks,

Jerry

Squeal talk.

I rarely ever leave a factory edge on my edges. That said, I have also never received a horribly bad edge on any Busse. The tip on my KZII was rather obtuse, but it is a 12 inch chopping beast. I convexed it anyway.

The only dull Busse I have ever received was a convex edge that another member had done. It needed a bit of tlc when I got it, but it was not factory at all.

I am glad to see that you are taking proactive steps to fix any issues. I will be buying Busse for life.

I just feel bad when some one's first experience with Busse is a bad edge, or uneven grind.

Impressive.:)

I believe this is called "owning the problem." The first step towards a genuine and lasting solution.

Jerry, I love the way you take pride in your work, it's second to none and it seems not many people/companies does that anymore. So by you even posting this, it shows what great warranty and outstanding work goes into the knives and outstanding customer service the Busse Company provides. I look forward to more and more of your beautiful knives.
Dan

I got one of those bad edges and grinds on my SAR3. You guys took care of it quickly and went above and beyond with the shop credit for my trouble. Amy even answered questions about it in PMs on a weekend while she was visiting her family... she's a bit of a workaholic I think. ;)

I like INFI, but I love the way you treat customers.

And Busse Combat continues to provide some great customer service...

I don't think I would expect any other answer from Jerry. a Great product, super durability and a man who stands behind his product is what brought Jerry from making knives in his garage to what Busse Combat is today..
also might want to check handes that are squared off on the edges instead of comfortably rounded.

I can back you up there...#27 KZIILE & friends arrived last week and out of the ones I checked so far, all are sporting very nice edges!

All I can say is that was an awesome response to the situation.

I'll drink to that !!!! @@

Massive amount of respect for this thread.

I had a tiny problem with a Busse a couple years ago - one phone call and 10 days later, the problem was fixed and the knife was in my hand.

Excellent customer service goes a long way!

The only bad edge on any of my Busse knives was the Gladius that I bought from Trevor. He claims he sharpened it on a steel can??? I have never heard of that method, but it sure was dull. :D

Rectify? Does that mean you kicked some tail? LOL

Thanks, Boss. You always put us, the customer(s) first.

I've only ever gotten one "bad" edge on a Busse, which I contacted customer service about, and Amy took care of everything without a hitch. First-class service for a first-class product, I have no complaints, and "no regrets!". Way to stand behind your products boss-man, that is truly great to see.

ive had a couple bad ones and have a couple on the way back to the shop.but busse has always taken care of me.its nice to see attention is being given to this problem.thumbs up jerry:thumbup:

This is why I want to purchase a Busse knife.....too many companies have lost the Pride in their Product.

Thanks,
