YOWZA!!!!. . . Being the head moron doesn't help any, but I can assure you that dull edges will soon be a part of Busse history.

All I can do is apologize and assure you that this won't happen again.

I will contact you directly about rectifying the problem.

Thanks,

Jerry

And we love our Head Moron !! :D:D,

Amazed again at the level of pride taken, and customer service rendered:thumbup::thumbup:

Jerry, I guess your attitude and character are the main reason we're all here -- oh, and the knives, the knives! Thanks.

I'm sure the FOLDERS will cut like pocket lasers!!!

YOWZA!!!!. . . We have been hit hard lately with threads and posts concerning some seriously sub-par edges that have passed through our doors.

The most recent shot came from our friend Peter on a Nuclear KZ. The edge looks embarassingly dull or unsharpened.

We are fixing this issue and I will no longer allow this to happen. We spend enormous amounts of time making every knife as perfect as we can. To then take well deserved hits about final edge sharpness strikes me as moronic on our part. Being the head moron doesn't help any, but I can assure you that dull edges will soon be a part of Busse history.

Peter,

All I can do is apologize and assure you that this won't happen again. Having checked the entire last batch of KZ2LEs myself that went out, I can tell you that the problem is definitely getting fixed. We are in the process of adding several new grinders that are speciffically designed for sharpening.

I am furious that a bull crap edge, like the one you have pictured, has left my shop!

I will contact you directly about rectifying the problem.

Thanks,

Jerry

I knew you'd take care of it Boss. And this too will pass...

This is awesome to read. I should be getting my first Busse next week I think. The SCABS looks like it will be the first in a line of awesome Busse users. Thanks Jerry.

Sounds great,

I'm not very skilled at sharpening so I sent my fat gw in and it didnt come back much sharper. It'll cut but it was better new.

Thanks Boss!

This is why I only have 1 off brand fixed blade that is not a Busse family knife left.

Of course my folders have your equal in service and quality with Mr. Hinderer. That is until we get yours;)

And that's why we're all here and you have such a following Boss. #1 in my book.:thumbup:

A proactive response to a possible problem......Almost unheard of in today's business culture.
Well done Jerry......
A demonstration of the commitment you have to your product and your customers.

Thank you
Steven

It must be a nightmare given (what I presume to be) the volume you're dealing with.

I've had three that weren't up to par (ASH, BAD, BWM), especially given the price point.

I hope it's resolved to near-perfection, as this is my only gripe with the brand/knives.

Thanks for addressing this.

;)

It’s going to be history? I’m glad to hear that.

I bought 2 knifes from Busse Company. Busse BWM black blade/black micarta, right from Busse Company when it was released and the 2nd one was Boss Jack doublecut blade/black micarta from Knoboganzzza. Both are still untouched, out of the box condition. I add a couple of pictures of my two Busse knifes so you can see I’m not talking about hot air.

I do not know if it is appropriate to put it in this thread but I can’t stand to see US guys saying that it’s cool and no problem at all and how Busse has the best customer service on and on. I don’t disagree with the part about the best customer service. We are all humans and we make mistakes... Probably I would say that as well if sending it back to Busse Company for resharpening would cost me $10, but in my case it would be approximately $80. And I’m not willing to pay this price for a mistake I didn’t make. I guess knifes that are shipped overseas should be inspected with even higher attention.

But please don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to shame anybody or anyone’s work. I LOVE Busse knifes and I’m a big fan of yours and I will buy your knifes till my day will come and my wallet will allow me to.

IMO, and I doubt everyone will agree, but any knife that costs in excess of $100 better come *ridiculously* sharp from the get-go. Each one hand sharpened and inspected if necessary...

As in, cuts you in half by just looking at it sharp. As in, Ban would be super impressed and people would think he did it - sharp. No new knife should ever need sharpening, IMO.

I mean, and not that I'm actually advocating a price increase, but given the choice - I'd much rather pay (for ex) $330 for an unbelievably sharp new knife than $300 for one that's not...

;)
