I know I am new to these boards, but I have to post an experience I had with Jack that was disturbing.
I put up a post seeking a Spyderco Vesuvius. He PM'd me saying he had one for sale. He claimed he had no pics but that it was in great shape.
I sent him a paypal payment and assumed all was good. A few days later I receive a package from Jack containing a cheap $10 chinese knife.
His version of the story is that he went to his local post office and showed the knife off to people in the post office (which made no sense to me) , then packed it and shipped it. I had both my young boys with me when I opened the box and they saw exactly what was in the package.
I know Jack has a lot of posts and has a very good prior record of sales/purchases in the feedback section. I also know as a "new" board member, people may approach my version of this dispute with caution, but I am being completely honest with my feedback and with what happened. I just don't want other board members to fall prey to anything like this. Initially he was somewhat responsive to my emails and said he would try to see what he could do. Then the emails stopped and I had to keep following up to see if he had made any progress. He seemed disinterested in this problem unless I emailed asking for updates.
Bottom line is Jack has my $158 and I have a piece of junk knife. He also claims he got insurance on the package but oddly can't put any claim in. None of this makes any sense to me. Today he decided to stop responding to my emails with no resolution. I had no other choice but to put my version of the events out there and warn any other potential buyers.
