Bad Experience with wolf-man-12

How much do you pay the mods for your instant gratification? :D

It's the weekend.
Sometimes something else is going on behind the scenes.
We have members here who never made a mistake in their lives, so they call for a ban NOW.
We have rules we follow. We have experience to fall back on. We have other mods we consult.

Relax, we will do the best we can. Meanwhile, just speaking for myself, as a mod who may be involved in a thread, I try to keep up with new posts. This thread is a perfect example of why that's not a great idea. Same people repeating themselves, sometimes at length. My eyes glaze over.

Just so you know, my post wasn't a criticism of time since the post. I was just showing the other person that his memory was accurate.

Esav, you've always helped me out when i had questions , and I know you guys volunteer your time here, I understand that there are things going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, and frankly it's not any of our business, I would just like to know some sort of punishment will be inflicted onto someone if say I make a transaction in the future and find myself in a situation like this, I always do my best to C.M.A when doing deals , I may take pics of the knife in the box at the post office, insurance , signature confirmation, insurance etc. anything I can to avoid getting scammed. I think people are just getting kind of weary about this situation If someone really was scammed and they are allowed to stay in the community.

Weary means that you already know not to deal with this guy. I'll have a conversations with Karda today and see how we can wrap this up. A for assurances of puishment for deals gone wrong, it's a little more complex than that. Personally, I like to examine things a bit more in depth. I review threads and read through posts, looking for clues that point to why things went South. We are not trigger happy for the sake of it. Please try to relax and exhibit some patience, for the sake of the OP if nothing else. Whipping things out of control doesn't help anyone in this matter.

At this point, here is what we have:
1. Using the gift option dissolves any recourse for a refund or reversal of a transaction.
2. Receiving the item about a month ago, then just recently starting this thread seems in and of itself suspicious.
3. We have some pictures of the so called cheap $10 knife.
4. We have patchy information at best.
5. One member is very new, another has a bit of longevity with no track record of problematic behavior.

This is definitely a strange and difficult situation at best. At this point, I do not feel a ban is in order because we don't really have enough meat on the bone for an outright ban. It seems that more discussion will have to take place. To prevent more frenzy and distortion from taking place; I'll close this one down temporarily until I have an opportunity to speak with rycen. I already spoke with Karda regarding this and all I am sure is that we need a bit more time to sort through the information.

After much conversation with other moderators, reading through emails, discussions over the phone we have come to a unified conclusion on this matter. Given the nature of the situation, limited information, there is no way that we can rule in favor of banning Wolf-Man-12.

All the 4 mods involved in this discussion concluded that a member in good standing, with no history of malice, even accidental would purposely choose to screw over another member for no reason out of the blue. Fom a logical standpoint, it makes absolutely no sense. While the other member involved tonyricciardi is very new here, it is a shame that things for some reason didn't go his way. We (the other mods and myself), find it hard to believe that someone with longevity and good standing would ship a knife not as advertised. There are a lot of holes in the story and things just don't add up.

This is not an accusation, but a reminder for the membership at large. There are sticky'd threads, hundreds of discussions, blog entries, moderators available to ask for help in case questions arise. Accusing members of being less than honorable is a slippery slope. Especially when other members come out of the wood work providing backup and support for said members. These he said-she said arguments usually never have easy resolutions. That said, we tried to come to a conclusion based on what was posted in these 10 pages and we have. We can only hope that folks will be more careful in the future with their dealings, and know that throwing accusations can hurt both parties involved.
