Balzano Completes His Second Knife...

Check out his latest instagram post, the knife he put up (also for sale) is supposedly the prototype the "Invictus" style that Prometheus Design Werx produces nowadays, is based upon.

Separately, someone put up this exact balzano knife for sale (also on instagram) for $600, Paulo makes a comment saying he would like to buy the knife back.
I send Paulo a message asking how much it would cost direct from him as the maker, he says $1500.

Weird all around.

I just want to say, yet again, that suckers are the true problem. As long as suckers are falling over each over, paying $1000-2000 for framelock customs that don't exist, there will be knifefakers out there to happily take preorders.

Sucker check:

Do you pay money for things that don't exist?
When you ask for a refund and are told that the guy was in a car accident and is now injured and cannot pay you money that should be in escrow, do you accept this?

If the answer to either question is yes, then well... see you back here soon.

A knife maker with a sketchy past, who also makes skateboards and vibrators (yea, I said vibrators...titanium ones...)?

The last thing this hobby needs is more clowns pissing in the wind...

I was prepared to leave this thread as it stands but since it has been bumped I would like to add an update.

I have spoken with Paulo pretty extensively over the past several months after I was encouraged to do so by another person. Clearly several people involved have their own sides to the story but at the end of the day, everyone I know of has been made whole by Paulo. I only know of one person who did not either get their money back or get a knife from him and that person specifically told Paulo to keep the money because he clearly needed it more than the buyer did.

Since then, Paulo has opened up about the people he is working with and has made a pretty conscious effort to ensure he isn't taking money for anything that isn't already complete. He has been contrite and he knows the vast majority is watching his every move to keep him on the straight and narrow.

He's not the first maker to have these issues and he won't be the last.

As the originator of the thread, I thought it might mean something to let people know that even I have been willing to give him another chance.

Sorry, what?

After reading what this dude has done.....another chance?? Has he squared away Blade HQ yet??
I'm ordering the custom bladed skate board.
Damn.

Kickstarter has a system to report people like this.

Which they do exactly NOTHING with.

So far I've backed two separate projects that cost me close to $200 in total.

In both cases the prototypes were ready, the scored insanely high in the funds gathering departement...

And I've gotten exactly ZILCH for my troubles.

Kickstarter can be fun...but you better be damn sure who you're backing is dependable...because if someone rakes in thousands and just disappear with your cash they'll do nothing to help you.

Reading his Kickstarter page is like reading a chapter in how to perpetuate a con. Full of misrepresentations, outright lies, etc. It's fascinating and incredibly sad all at the same time.

You're right of course. I invested in a documentary film project based on its topic and the celebrity that was involved in its production. I learned exactly what kind of value he put on his personal reputation. Over 3 years of waiting, never got any of the items that were promised. I publically shamed the thieves and liars on their website, on Facebook, and on Kickstarter until I got a refund but it was an educational experience.

Still owes us the full amount. We have not seen a single knife or dollar from him.

anyone who supports this guy after reading what BHQ has written in plain english is as nutty as squirrel shit.

I'm going to make a documentary about Kickstarter scams, and fund it using Kickstarter. Anyone want to fund me?
