Thanks, I don't know how but I will try. I tried to become a paying member before but I found the application very complicated. In fact both times I tried when I did get through said the info was wrong, etc. Then I checked and I was a gold member. The set up is flawed. The message I kept getting was an error with my info, and that some info was missing. Then I saw my money went through the charge. I'm not sure why the setup isn't more user friendly. I don't know anything because I don't know where to look. This is very difficult for me.

Thanks Ohen,
That answers some questions. Sounds like I'll stay away from that company. The people I buy my knives from, and they are many, are good men and women. All I have gotten is good service, and exactly what I've ordered. Thanks again.
Rick

I truly hope those orders went through easier than this thread and your membership upgrades did...

New to computers?

I went to Advanced Search, used keywords "Bark River," and selected the GB&U forum.

It was the first thread at the top. I was surprised Bison22 wasn't watching that thread. Every other time I've viewed it, he's been there. Hmmmm.....

Nothing wrong with the setup there, nor have I ever had problems with the membership process. The only catch is that you have to go into your profile and choose the appropriate member level for display.

That cuts both ways. I bet every time he's watching the thread he wonders why you're going back for another swipe at it. :)

I personally will continue to do business with Bark River The people that run and work for the company are stand up people and treat there customers with top quality products and top quality service. It's sad but it seams there's always some one around that will try to bring a good company and a good man down.

Nothing but good words to say about MS and BRKT from me. I should have a sweet FR in Purple Elder coming my way shortly...

Yes, quit well, I just had a little trouble there, thats all. Im sure it was me doing something wrong. But now I'm here as a gold member, and that makes me pretty happy.:)

Cheers my good man, perhaps buy a Bark River and see for yourself how that deal goes for you, as others have said? I am just saying band wagon jumping is a rough sport and often times unnecessary injuries take place.

:D

All the best

I have had nothing but the best service from M S and his BRK&T. His knives have all been delivered in great shape, cosmetically and functionally. I feel they are excellent values - in my case, as close as likely for me to come to a custom knife - and at low-production prices.

I have seen negative remarks on other knifemakers - here and elsewhere. One needs to look for trends - true history - even then, it's often a crapshoot. For we users, the after the sale treatment is paramount - look for that feedback before writing off any maker.

I'll continue buying Bark River knives - there are just too many nice models that I don;t yet have, and the knives are too well-made to ignore. Further, the reputation of the company towards its customers is, as far as any evidence I've heard and all experiences I've had, outstanding.

Now, I might have second thoughts before making a business deal with them, only because there is some evidence out there that it could go sour. Note that I said there is some evidence out there - I did not say proof or even substantial evidence, rather there is a piece of evidence of possible misfeasance on the part of BRKT.

I say go out and buy a Bark River model that excites you. My bet is: you'll buy another and another before you dismiss them.....if you ever do.

Having read the thread on the other forum (Bark River sub forum) it is clear that there are two sides to this story.

I will continue to buy Bark River knives.
Both Bark River and their stocking dealers have given me straight answers and first class customer service.

Bark River Knife & Tool are, and have always been a great bang for the buck.

A very wise old friend of mine once told me many, many, years ago:

(1) Do the best possible job you can do. If you do good quality work, most folks will be happy with your product or service.

(2) Some will not, because those few could have utter perfection and they would still complain.

(3) Those particular few will never be happy with anything you do for them.

(4) So when you identify those particular few, and they continue to complain, look at them square in the eyes and tell them to "move on."

"Never waste good time and effort on worthless human beings."

Good advise for every honest business person, bar none.

Anthony
