Bark River Posts

It looks like Mike Stewart and BRKT threads have become as heated as Mick Strider and Strider Knives threads have been in the past.

I don't agree with the way BR conducted business with this particular person but he got his money back and my bark river knives blow all my other ones away, including my swamp rats. I don't really need any more as I have all the models that I like. If I find a need for one in the future I will purchase it.

I feel as a customer of bark river I will never have any problems dealing with them.

I don't usually do spelling flames, but holy Moses... In that one short sentence you have a misspelling, two punctuation errors, a capitalization error and tortured syntax.

Yeah, we can "desifer" [sic] what you're trying to say--it just gives us a headache to do so.
 
As an American and a knife user I find the products (and Customer Service) from Bark River hard to beat.

Their Steel and Edge Geometry make for great cutting tools, and there selection of handle material is second to none.

I can’t find a better performing American made knife for the money, that’s why I buy them.

PS - Mike Stewart’s no questions asked warrantee that covers abuse to the blade and the handle is the best in the business, and the fact that he will refurbish any of his knives at any time just for a nominal shipping and handling fee is icing on the cake.

My post was mostly in reply to what Keith M. said about Strider and the reply of wolfmann601. It was posted in a "jesting way" while remembering all that mess.

And you call me a "Bark River basher" ............. why would you do that ?

I think Bark River makes an excellent product, as stated previously.

However, if the things reported in this thread about Mike S. of Bark River are true.......... as they seem to be by documentation............ why would you defend him? Blind allegience??

And why would you call me a troll and "Bark River Basher" for suggesting to SnarlSlayer that he see if he has legal recourse in the "Royal Screwing" he received?

Answers would be appreciated. :thumbup:
 
I will absolutely never ever own a BRK nor will I ever own one of the sheaths that fella makes for him. NEVER, and as a matter of fact I wouldn't even take one for nothing. I ain't kiddin either. I have my reasons too. You will also never seen me post on KF's again. Not that I posted there much anyways. keepem sharp

teacher, you got your answers in my last response. The original thread was locked for lack of anything productive left to say. High-fiving a couple of posts that just continue the dogpiling is not an impressive achievement.

Esav, if that is what you choose to call "answers", so be it.

Opinions are like rear ends... everybody has one..... and both yours and mine fit into that slot also.
Just as I do not have a "dog in this hunt"......... neither do you or anyone else who has posted here....... except SnarlSlayer.

For you to pick me out as "High-fiving" is about as impressive as what you say I did.

IF, the facts are as SnarlSlayer stated.... he got screwed; simple as that.
IF, he has legal recourse...... I can only hope he will get on the stick and take it.

That is my opinion......... it is nothing "against" you personally and not "dogpiling" anything.

And....... if there seems to be nothing productive left to say in this thread, I can only hope you will lock it as was the "original" I missed...... but read yesterday when I posted here.

This is really quite a cop out and a big load of Hewie! Without your explanations of your alleged bad experiences with these and the particulars of such with these(which modles #'s) knives, what was your bad experience exactly, and details with them, what problems did you have with the sheathes?. ect. ect.

Without this crucial information from your above post, to me, it is tantamount to trolling, and should not be tolerated.
 
First off I don't know what Hewie is. Secondly I won't buy or own a BRK cause of the way he does business period. Like it or not. That's just me. Thirdly the fella that is associated with making his sheaths or somehow connected to him well that is between he and I and if I had kept the p.m.'s maybe I would have posted the vitriol that he sent me but I didn't so I can't. That's all you have to know. no keepem sharp for you

Your opinion doesn't count as to what I will buy or not buy its that simple. You don't like it don't read it. Obviously it seems that you are somehow connected to one or both. But then again this isn't about me or you its about BRK and how he conducts business. To me he doesn't conduct business in a way that makes me want to support him. This all sounds strangely familiar though.

I collect BR knives and at the present have over 20 of them.
I read up on this fiasco and tried to make sense of it. From my personal dealings with MS I can say he is hard headed and set in his ways... but those are not necessarily bad traits. As a matter of fact, most of my best friends and people I respect are the same way, so something must be said for that. From my experiences MS is a damn fine man and a damn fine knife maker.

That being said, from what I have heard of the story, MS appears to be in the wrong. You take someone's money for a service/product promised, you deliver. If you don't deliver, refund the money immediately, no questions asked.

Now... that being said..... Because MS will not state his side or his reasoning I have to assume there is more to the story that we don't know and I also have to applaud his desire to keep the dirty laundry in the hamper and handle his personal business personally.

I will continue to support MS and BRKT because I am sure he has his own reasoning behind his actions and decisions.
