I gotta say, Dickel and Knobb Creek are two I really like for drinking straight.
I'll look at that Woodenville too that Hurley was talking about.

Yup, I like Dickel too. Come to think of it, I think I have a bottle of it that I need to finish. Looks like my plans are made for after I go hunting Thursday!

I'd definitely like to keep it under a bill. I was thinking $25-$75ish

Colonel Taylor small batch will do you right. Right in the middle of your range. One of my favorites.

nice icelandic vodka on the market, Reyka, get some

Buffalo Trace or Wild Turkey are my go-tos. Wild Turkey Rare Breed is something I enjoy when I remember to.

I'm married to crown royal. I may cheat with another whiskey occasionally, but I always return home.

The crown royal XO is my new favorite. It's 50 a bottle... Regular crown is only 22 bucks... Black is 28 bucks... I hate the maple, and the Apple.... But the others I love... Still have to try XR and the rye.

Knob creek is good here and there. Makers is decent too... But I always return to my wife.

Happy Veterans day fellas.

Weather says 0 percent chance of rain... Good thing they didn't say 0% chance of sprinkling....

Got a farm and lumber store just less than an hour from here.... Might be my new favorite store. They sell firearms, archery equipment, fishing supplies, picnic tables, tools, clothes, pet food and medication... 10 times better than walgart lol

Had a 10\22 with walnut stock, the stock had been carved into a gator... Loads of detail, all the scales, it felt marvelous! $429. Not bad imo for the level of detail in the carving.

Made the mistake of checking out revolution stocks for the 1022. Now we can't decide on which one, or which color... Some sweet stocks for sure.

Wanted to let the kids fly some kites today... It's still sprinkling despite the weather man, and not a lick of wind lol.. Hopefully after lunch is better.

Next 2 weekend will be spent at my family's river property. Went and seen it a few days ago, it's been years since I been there. A truly beautiful place! This Saturday is everyone taking the kids to play out there... Next weekend is all night catfishing with just the men. Looking forward to it!!

Oh yea... Still needing Dex's phone number.... Or give him my new one and ask him to call me please... 3523634809.

Bulleit, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Balvenie double barrel (scotch), 4 Roses, Basil Hayden's

OTOH, I made some "Drambuie" the other day - 1/2L of JW red was sitting in the cabinet collecting dust, so I added 3 drops of rosemary extract and 2/3 cup of local raw honey.
it's not bad. hopefully it will continue to mellow out over the next few weeks.

I love me some honey... Never thought of adding it to liquor...

Do you heat it up so it mixes in fully? Or just drop it in and shake it up?

Interesting! I may like a plain, light, honey flavor more than the Apple pie everyone thinks is so great... I'm hoping on some juicy fat black berries this coming season. Got lots of plans for them bad boys... Watermelon too. I can get free watermelon and free blackberries during season... Makes things cheaper.

Gunna try making some wine too... At least once... We don't drink wine much.... But I just like learning the processes... Gotta know how to do everything in the song country boy can survive in order to graduate to head hillbilly :D

yup - add honey, shake 1-2 times a day for a week.
the recipe called for 1 - 1.5 cups of honey to a fifth of scotch, that sounded a little sweet so I snuck up on it.
2-3 oz on day 1, another 2-3 oz on day 4 -- at that point, the sweetness was about right to me.
the rosemary adds a little sharpness, I've also heard of using heather and/or juniper berries.

I've been thinking about selling my rigs and getting a couple different ones. I really like my K5 and my '93 2wd sonoma and they have done very well by me but I have found a 2wd pickup to be less than ideal and the K5 ain't great for hauling anything and being carbureted makes it just a tad finicky to start if it's been sitting for a while, if it's cold, or if it's on an incline. Not hard to start really but in the winter at the end of my shift it would be nice if I could just reach in and fire it up without having to try to get in with my gear on to feather the gas pedal.

I've always really like late '80s early 90's Ford trucks and I'd like to get back into an F-series extended cab, or maybe a 4x4 Ranger and tade the Sonoma for a car of similar vintage. Saw a really nice '88 Crown Vic wagon on CL for $1500 and the thing is mint. The wagon should get 20-21mpg so I'm not spending much more in gas over the little V6 sonoma.

Ideally I'd just have a fleet of hoopties but apartment living doesn't agree with that.

WW I hear the Crown Honey is good, but yeah I heard from a lot of people that the Maple and Apple are WAY too sweet.

Came back home from Fuerteventura today. Hmmm...what's that big package waiting for me? Hello BK21 :D. Now THAT'S what I call coming home...

My throat is scratchy and I can feel myself getting sick. I really didn't feel like missing anymore work for a while.

I ended up going with George Dickel no.12 and Tullamore Dew.
Shaping up to be a great weekend at BeckerWest!!
