Happy gobble gobble. I ran two miles and skipped breakfast. Saving up for the feast!

Sooo....
a few days back a buddy gave me a loaf of Stollen (German fruit and brandy enhanced bread - similar to, but not quite fruitcake)

last night I sliced it (using a Becker kitchen knife, of course) and put the slices upright in a bread pan with a little space between each slice -- when smothered it in french toast batter (5 eggs, TBS vanilla, 1/2 cup milk - beaten to a froth) and put it in the fridge to soak in all night.
this morning I baked it for an hour, then fed it to SWMBO.
om nom nom-ing has begun.

remember guys SWMBO is a vegetarian -- how much cooking do you think i let her do?

Still waiting to eat. Prolly gonna be another hour, I'd guess. Beer's hitting pretty hard, as I've had nothing to eat since about 9 this morning. There are 13 people here for dinner in our very small house. I'm currently trying real hard to stay away from what is normally MY domain - the kitchen - and let the MIL, SIL, sister and wife do as they will. It's too late now to effect any change in the outcome, anyway. I was allowed to tend to the 23 lb. bird and to manhandle it out of the oven. Least amount of cooking I've done on Thanksgiving in recent memory. Hope everyone is enjoying/has enjoyed/will enjoy their Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving yall, just finished eating. No beer today just Whiskey! But I actually got to carve the bird with my BK5.

*arrrgh* My sister won't even let me bring my 5 into her house. S'okay, next year I ain't gonna ask!

Oh, I am soooo stuffed. Probably gonna fall asleep in the lazy-boy during half time.

Just wear it on your hip and pretend you don't know what she is talking about. Lol

"What knife?!?!"

*furiously butters toast

dangit, I should have brought the BK-15 downstairs for carving. that was a silly oversight.

Happy thanksgiving!

tomorrow Neko turns 2 years old. Going to get him a steak in the morning!!

I'm going to trade out the Esee Gibson.... Just not sure what I'd want in trade... Maybe sell it... It's a great knife if you like a leather sheath... But not so good I want to invest another 75 or so on a kydex sheath for it to maybe still not even use it...

Still imo it's the most ergonomic Esee I have held.

Gearing up for round two now that the sun has set.

No hunting today but the boys and I shot a bunch of tin cans and did a little pond fishing. The 12 year old even took out some frustrations on a log with a BK4.

If you are ridiculous enough to go shopping tomorrow and need a tent, be sure to get out early enough to get you an angry possum thrown in.
