Happy Thanksgiving 'Muhrica! (and Norfolk islanders!) I hope all my brethren and sistren (?) are having a swell time. Just finished a grueling night shift week with next to no sleep (mebbe 8hrs out of 96, moving house sucks) and on my singular day off I'm on the turps already. For 'Muhrica! Wish Australia had something like thanksgiving. Well, Norfolk Island does but I'm not swimming all the way out there. Bugger that. Wow. No food + insanely little sleep = McHammered already. This is going to be a short and potentially vomitous day. I'll keep <hic> you posted <hic>..

Haha! It just occurred to me. I'm having Turkey today as well! Wild Turkey! Yeah baby! I'm practically American yo!
 
Was just wishing there would be a sale on a certain site that has lots of computer games, and lo and behold, excellent sale. Good times. Also, I think I may have managed to win a tourney on another site and get a little extra cash. Today was a good day.
 
Even though I have a natural proclivity towards hating everything green and gold (Green Bay Packers colors also, Chicago Bear's arch rivals) because this is a completely different sport I have no issues rooting for them! The Wallabies are my go to rugby team. The US team just SUCKS!

Spent several hours in the ER getting rehydrated and pumped full of antibiotics. Was running a 103+ degree fever, 140 resting heart rate, tonsils were swollen to the point it was making me vomit, yada yada yada.
 
I agree that it's unfortunate that the US has a rugby team. It's also unfortunate we have a soccer team.

last night I sliced it (using a Becker kitchen knife, of course) and put the slices upright in a bread pan with a little space between each slice -- when smothered it in french toast batter (5 eggs, TBS vanilla, 1/2 cup milk - beaten to a froth) and put it in the fridge to soak in all night.
this morning I baked it for an hour, then fed it to SWMBO.
om nom nom-ing has begun.

Jiminy Crickets... I've had stollen many times before and enjoyed it quite a bit, but it never occurred to me to make a "french toast" kinda thing with it... Great Googly Moogly, that sounds AWESOME!! :thumbup:

In other news, we had our T-day dinner at Ang's aunt's house for the first time this year. It was a resounding success (and a lot less work than having it at our house :D) In other, other news, I was asked to bring a THK chef's knife for the turkey carving... and it got claimed.

Off off off topic.... I love my new water hose... Only 25 feet long, but puts out good pressure and I can pick the entire coiled up hose with only my pinky finger! They make longer lengths but I have a longer hose already and wanted a short one that was easy to carry around....

Called a water right. Would make a decent gift for the gardener in your life. Kind of pricey for a water hose... But if you use one a lot it's highly worth it IMO. Very easy to move around the yard and hasn't kinked up on me once. It's a great hose.


Further off topic... I have declared war on ants. Fire, carpenter, and black ants. ALL must die. But only the small area I fenced in.... 40'X40'.... The rest of the 2 acres I will live and let live... But out of nowhere fire ants have surrounded my fire barrel area, and black ants are all under the picnic table...

I have been bitten.... Lots... I refuse to wear regular shoes... Tevas only.... Ants must die... It's war.... Victory or death!

You're outnumbered, like, 4 gajillion to 1......plus, all those ants? They're females.......

May your death be honorable.
I'll gladly take care of your knife collection after you're gone.
 
I have faith in you WW...

On one hand...you ever need a skull cleaned or anything else for that matter, a large ant bed is your friend...

If your getting bit...fire is fun and satisfying for vengeance, but not permenant.

Seems like poison is the only remedy that may actually work long-term.

If you really want quick and effective, deisel does the trick but pretty much ruins the earth...and they kinda just move but they don't come back...
