Becker Knife Ideas

You and me both man. I am seriously contemplating getting something like this made. Just a one off type of deal of course, but I would really like to have this knife. Looking at 3D models or pictures just doesn't convey size properly when you finally get a good reference for it. This thing is huge. ~16.25" of huge.

If you find someone to make that thing, let us know! I would love to get my hands on a "BK Brutus".

Oh, and first post! WOOT!:D

WOOT, WOOT!!!!

Thanks for the greetings! I've been lurking for about a month as registered member. I was hoping to post pics of my BK9 in its new kydex sheath, but it's still out and I wanted to chime in. I need to get them posts to be a proper Beckerhead :P

Here it is a little refined.

Much more Becker-esque handle and scales. The tang extension is off, which I need to fix, but can't right now, but the handle section is pretty darn close. Printed blueprint only has a few areas that are off by around a mm or so.

The one I had posted in it's own thread was different in several ways, and after looking, this first version is much better, and much closer to a Becker-esque end result. Pretty sure I am going to get this made. Thoughts?

Will there be bolts in the handle

Yeah, but I am not taking the time to model them. Pain in the arse enough as it is trying to get the handle proper.

What I will be doing is getting just the blade made and using my existing grivory and hardware.

Dunno if it's been mentioned, and I don't know if it's right for this thread, but I really really really want blaze orange G10 scales. Like, really want.

I did a machete with orange scales one page back, it doesn't look like it but i was going for blaze orange

not a knife idea but a handle idea to mod a bk2 into a spear/hatchet , i put a big bolt through the lanyard hole to make sure it would be rock solid

Ehhh.... Hmmm...

I'm not a fan of using my knife as a spear. I'd use it to make a spear.

People would probably buy it though, if nothing else for the novelty. Talk about making the BK2 a multi-purpose tool....

I'd think that it would be best in a polycarbonate instead of aluminum. If you were chopping hard, I think that the aluminum would transmit too much shock and sting your hands. Kind of like an aluminum ball bat will do if you aren't holding it tight enough.

Gunna have to take a pass on the spear idea. Like cramsey said, I would use it to make a spear. Can't afford to lose my BK2 when it would be so useful for so many other things, whereas you could make a good enough spear and fire harden the tip to make it usable.

I personally liked your bowie style idea. Not a fan of bowie's myself (Cept maybe David Bowie, he's the tits) but it was a good looking design, getting really close to being something that could, maybe even should, be made. Just flatten that angle between the handle and the blade, a nice straight transition there would make it just about perfect. IMO of course, YMMV.
