Had all four wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Someone send me a Becker so I'll feel better.

suffering?

i went back to work the same day basically. amazing surgeon.

pictures of teeth! (i kept mine)

perhaps a big glass of wine and some oxycontin? :)

I think I'll have a big shot of bourbon and take a nap.

I figured you would have left them in, you need all the wisdom you can get:p

:D

I hope you got some good PK's, take the pain and consciousness away.

Hope you get to feeling better brother, first sick, no teeth pulling, ouch.

They were grinding down on the back sides and needed to go.
I had a bunch of dough left in the FSA, and getting them out this year was a no brainer.
Got some new sheaths for my 3, 5, and 7. Those helped with the pain. :p

Guyon is ghey, repeat, Guyon is ghey.

I don't know how you got from wisdom teeth removal to ghey, but I would appreciate it if you'd stop hitting on me. Seriously, stop sending me pictures of you in a dress. :D

I'm back to normal today. I need a cheeseburger. The soft diet sucked.

oh man. please leave these ghey/bromance things on the esee forum :barf: it's bad enough over there as it is. if this continues i'd have to leave the becker forum as well and go to a mora forum to get my knife fix (if a mora forum did exist).

well, only if they look like twins ;)

mmm, i heard that before.

nah, those too are just really close friends. yup. that's it.

I was just kidding. Moose actually looks pretty good in a dress, though the burgundy one makes his a$$ look a little fat. Hopefully, he won't see this, or else the waterworks will turn on.

just got done shoveling over 2' of snow we got from last night. i really need to hang outside and walk my dog more often. i just discovered my new neighbor two houses down is a hottie. i hope it snows again real soon and often so i can help her shovel :D

Just got a Aligator Tooth from my 10 year old son for christmas.

Pretty cool, I have never seen one before, just noticed all the cut marks in my kitchen table....Oops

Hell, that might be my tooth! :p

Update on the jaw pain. That shit hurt. I thought I'd gotten past it (see above), and then the nerve trauma/healing kicked in. It would come and go, last for hours, and the most acute was like my worst sinus infection on crack. I had visions of Moose in turquoise taffeta dresses; that's how bad it got. I couldn't take the pain meds the doc prescribed because they made me feel absolutely nuts. Just high dose Advil and extra-strength Tylenol are what I wound up using. Today, I do finally feel like I can eat again. Had a chicken sandwich for lunch with no severe effects, and I've taken enough drugs to keep the throbbing at bay today.

Watch out for dry socket, I got 2 of them when I lost wisdom, and ta hell with that. I stayed looped up on demerol, my surgeon was a golfin' buddy, so, yeah, I stayed ripped for 2 weeks. Dry socket hurt worse than the surgery. Good luck, homie, and I hate taffeta, makes my ankles look too thin.

yeah, dry socket. sucks. if you smoke, it would beHOOVE you to stop for a while. sucking straws, tubes, hydration bottles - no - it keeps pulling the clots out, and you expose raw nerves to STUFF...

gargle. salt water gargles frequently! like holding and gently swish and generally keeping your mouth shut and moist. bad time of year with dry air. if you have a humidifier, use it. esp a bed side one.

soft foods good. try to avoid spices and crunchy bits. practice chewing with your forward teeth ;) pudding! icecream!

be kind, and it'll heal faster. still, in my case, while i beat the pain in a day or two with just ibuprofen, certain aspects of healing, like my jaw relaxing from years of impaction, and the jaw bone reflowing took ... months. pretty amazing how the bone reformed and flowed.

I still have my wisdom teeth, I don't think I need them out since they do not bother me, is there a certain age they stop coming in?

I actually think mine never came in....

Yeah, I worried about dry socket the first time the nasty pain hit, but then it would come and go. From what I read, dry socket sticks around. Doc took a quick look today, and said it's just the nerves healing. He told me just to up the ibuprofen/acetaminophen for about a week. So far today, no head throbbing episodes, so maybe I'm past it. Took a nice hike today with the boy at a local state park. Saw 15 deer, including two bruiser bucks, and got in some hot chocolate time with the Whitebox Solo stove. Also finally got to eat some of the Christmas ham. Good times.

mine came in just fine. oh yeah.

then they got cavities under the gum line, infected, swollen, bleeding, and somewhat impacted apparently.

in other words, they turned EVIL. so they came out. took less than 2 hours and i got to watch :), drove myself to and from, and even stopped at work. nobody noticed the next day. virtually no pain. the modern procedure was amazing.

Oh, and for the pain, try clove oil. Pure clove oil. You can get it at most pharmacies in the tooth area, and its cheap and works SOOOOOOOO well. You just have to get used to everything tasting like cloves.

Mine were impacted and half erupted. Surgery took 4hrs, and the teeth had to be broken and split into 6 pieces before they came out. The roots grew in a hook pattern around the nerve, so, my nerve was in a tooth cage. There was a possiblility that half my face would go numb, forever, but hey, I had a good surgeon. All better now.
