Beckerhead firearms

I wouldn't mind getting S&W .357 wheel guns n 5, 6, 7, and 8 shot capacities, but I slightly prefer the Ruger revolvers and I want to be able to run them proficiently so I'm going to focus on GP100 variants and RedHawks for a while. Though my Smith 625 is fun to shoot.

I have been looking at that GP100 pro also Hoss, per your and some other reccomendations. I just thought, "Man wouldnt two extra shots be nice?" So whats the main difference between the 627 and the 327 ? anyone handled both ?

627 will be stainless, the .model numbers that start with 6 are all stainless. The 327 I think might be scandinadium or however you spell that. Their lightweight alloy. Should be functionally the same besides the weight.

So these came in today. Finn M39 and a Swiss K1911 carbine.

Yesterday when I went down to pick up the above milsurps I noticed a Savage 99e in .243 and a sporterized mauser scout rifle in the used racks. I was pretty much tapped for funds so I didn't bother to fondle either but someone on another board said that if it had been him, one of those rifles would be on lay-away. So I went back this morning and looked over both. The very pretty woman (she told me she needs another gun safe because her's is full and that she drives and F150 pickup. We haven't set a date yet but you're all invited to the wedding if I ever manage to ask her.) working the counter advised me to not struggle with deciding on one and just buy both (I think we'll be very happy together eating ramen surrounded by guns) so I ended up putting both on lay-away together. But to be honest, the fact that she probably could have talked me into buying anything in the store had little bearing as I had planned on seeing about putting both on lay-away from the moment I decided to go back to the store and look them over closer. But you probably already figured that much.

Swapped out some new furniture.

Not quite sure how I like it. Just under 3 oz heavier, but the balance feels waaay different. I'll be hitting the range next weekend, I guess I'll get a better feel then.

Does anyone have or played with an ATI 1911? I'm thinking about picking one up. The titan specifically.

I have considered that one - and the RIA that's just fractionally larger with the 3.25" barrel. (and costs $25 more)
RIA has a better rep because they've been around longer, but I haven't heard anything bad about ATI.

I've read reviews and have watched many YouTube reviews including hichock45. It seems the GI, mid length barrel, shoots low.

For what purpose? For plinking and fun should be alright but I've never played with them. For serious business, tactical tupperwear is the way to go.

I just watched a video from Mrgunsngear where he was talking to the armorers at Battlefield Vegas which is a shooting range in Vegas where you can rent all different types of guns. The armorers there had good things to say about Rock Island 1911's.

I want to get the ATI titan for defence carry. From what I understand they're made in the same factory as rock island. The ATI's seem to have a better finish to them though. Rounded edges, polished and parkerized barrel. The only issue I've been able to find negative about the titan is the spring, but that can be swapped with the kimber pro carry. I'd like to get a 1911 in that size but don't want to drop a G or two on one. I'm thinking this would be a good entry level one too start with.

The armorers in the videos said the Rock Islands compared favorably with other 1911's but that all 1911's fell short of other guns like Glocks and such for durability. The 1911 is a good design but it's a 100 year old design with delicately fitted parts and when you start shooting them as much as you should be to be proficient with a carry gun it's going to break and you're going to be spending a lot of money keeping it running.

At around 11:30 they get into 1911's, just before that they were talking about Glocks and Sigs saying that they were probably the most reliable and durable pistols they have.
