Beckerhead firearms

That was fast...

The same email had a listing for LEO trade in Gen 2 Glock 17's chopped to take G19 mags for $350. I opened the email the same day they sent it and the Glocks were already sold out.

Went to the range yesterday to make sure the 7RM is still on point and sight in the 257.
45 minute wait for CF lane.
Had to bug out.

So everyone is ignoring my idea for a Top ten list of firearms ? ...lol I thought you guys would be all over this.

I will start.

My top few guns that I have owned and/or used and can speak on.

for Handgun, I have been very happy with my Para Ordinance P-13 limited. There are a few things I would change, but that mostly on me because when I bought it I didnt really know crap all about the world of guns. Its an older one from before Para's fall from grace quality wise, and their return. I also enjoyed shooting a 9mil Glock, and a couple different Makarov's

for Shotgun I have grown to prefer Mossberg over Remington at least as far as the semi autos go. My Mossburg feels better in hand, I prefer the safety on it for a non pistol grip gun, and it came with features that I think should be standard, that Remington doesnt come with. It also has fed more reliably for me regardless of ammo than my Remmy did. My 1187 police was/is a good gun, but I am liking the Mossy a bit more. I really want to shoot a Molot Vepr 12 though, and I LOVED the Beneli M4 Marine shotgun, but its sooooo expensive, and still requires some things to meet certain expectations for a shotgun for me.

For rifle, I have a lot less experience here. My Ruger mini 30 has been a pretty solid shooter, not great not bad, and pretty damn reliable. I have shot a AR and enjoyed it, BUT it was a friends, a pretty nice custom, and meticulously kept up. I have avoided ARs to some extent because of some of the small moving parts that could be a problem in the field when cleaning or maintaining.
I freaking LOVE my Ruger 10-22 and wish I had bought a higher end model of it. I think I will probably be getting a Breakdown Magpul version with iron sights, and then doing a trigger job and maybe a barrel.

Wants ? The Benelli M-4 marine with the collapsible stock, and or a Molot Vepr 12, with a simple good red dot maybe ? a Second Gen Tavor, with a nice Acog maybe ? a CZ P-01 has been calling me, and the Smith and Wesson M&P Shield for a CCW. I also kinda like the Kel Tek .223 folding rifle. I dont know what it is about it, but aside from it being well reviewed and regarded, it also seems like a pretty well thought out design, especially for a pack gun.

What are your picks guys ? Whats your favorites that you own or have used, and what are your wish guns ?

I don't envy you for your area. :( Not 2A friendly, in a not 2A friendly state.

Top 10 weapons picks, in no particular order:-
M-16 A-1; select fire, 20" barrel. (Kind of particular to my old girlfriend.)
M-1 Garand/M-14.
M-1928 A-1 Thompson's sub machine gun (or variant).
M-1911 (no A-1 thanks). :o
M-3 sub machine gun (grease gun).
Sig Sauer P-226 Mk 25 Navy.
M-60 machine gun.
M-2 Browning.
M-1903 Springfield.
MK II fragmentation grenade (pineapple).
:p

I used to want a Springfield M1A, and then I held one and realized it was enormous. Then I shot a .308 scout rifle (bolt) and realized why the M1A is enormous.

The military stuff doesn't interest me that much. I do like the 1911, but only in its modern guise. Crappy sights and pinching hammers do not excite me. I DO like good tangent rear sights on rifles. My minimal list looks something like this:

1 good .22 revolver
1 good .22 target pistol
1 good centerfire target revolver
1 Ruger Blackhawk (getting specific here ;))
1 good 1911
1 good carry handgun, semi or revolver if permitted
1 good semi-auto shotgun that can do deer or clays/birds
1 good bolt-action .22 rifle
1 good versatile deer rifle, not too pushy
1 good medium range bolt action centerfire rifle

Everything else is gravy, like lever-action .22's :D

None of these things have to be top-end, but definitely not bargain basement quality.

Favorites. Here we go..

(Subject to change on a weekly basis...:D)

Charter Arms Pathfinder (70's)
Model 19 S&W
Model 63 S&W
Henry pump .22

CZ 75
Sig 320
Browning BLR
Remington 700BDL .22-250
Dan Wesson 15-22

Honorable mention.

Ruger Single-Six
Buckmark
Ruger SR 22
Colt 1911
Lever Action Henry

ok so addendum to the list idea,

You get two handguns and two rifles, (Shotgun is a rifle, if you chose it) for a "you are in a bad way" kind of situation. What would you want, any gun is available its a fantasy after all, but real guns that exist ...lol
Curious what people would choose if they had to carry them non stop and rely on them to survive. Pick your bad way scenario, but please explain what it is so we know why the gun choices were made. I need to think about mine I think.

Well here I was about to play but since you put some crazy "new" rules down I'm not gonna. I know what I like and it doesn't fall into your "addendum." Not all areas are the same so what works for you in your area might be the worst in my area. Lmk when I can carry what I want... ;p

lol There no rules its not a contest, Im just looking to get some activity on the topics.
Chime in Nick, I would love to hear what you like and want.

The addendum was just that, and add on idea to play with, not an over ride of the original idea

I hate the "you can only have..." rules. It depends on the scenario you're selecting for.

.357 Blackhawk
Marlin 336

Ammo is ubiquitous, many options for the revolver. My Marlin owns anything to 200yd. Beyond that, do I care?
And my Blackhawk is sexy AF.

I could also get away with .22LR's, BTW, as long as I wasn't worried about bear, wild pigs, and armour. My shortened CZ 452E-ZKM... phenomenal rifle, plus a Single Six (don't own yet). Or maybe my tweaked Buckmark because I might want rapid fire for SD.

Well, it was a really cool thread until Silverthorn screwed it up. You can't have anything nice anymore.

Reality is, my 'needs' are shooting at paper and a deer once in awhile.
But regulations point me toward things I wouldn't necessarily 'want', like a slug-capable shotgun. Versatile tool, but not a need I really have otherwise. No rifle season in my state. But there's a muzzle-loader season, so I 'need' one of those too, which I wouldn't otherwise own.
