Beckerhead firearms

I say we close the thread, ban Silverthorn and start all over

:D

Settle down now. I don't think we need to go that far... Maybe just ban him for bad conduct or something.

For my list,

I like a Glock for pure reliability. I'm sure with advanced sights and more practice I could be more accurate. I do like the 9mm round. You can carry more 9mm double stack than you can .45 obviously. But I do want to get my hands on a Kimber 1911. I've heard and read so many good things about them.

I also want to get a good revolver. Not sure what caliber, but I'd like a snubby and a longer hog leg/smoke wagon(?) Idk, a longer 6" or so barrel. I have my .22 mag NAA revolver that I love for city carry.

Rifles; there are so many to pick from. I do like the AR platform. I think every American should have one, or similar semi auto rifle for defence of home and country from foreign powers, domestic terror, tyranny, and dictators. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Moe rifles, I like my 30-30 marlin lever action that I picked up not too long ago. For my area that about all you need for hunting, but having a good 30-06 would be awesome as well, for those extra long shots that you just need to make. I also feel that everyone needs a shotgun for obvious reasons. I got mine for home defence. It's the Winchester SXP. I put a fold over stock on her and I like it, but don't love it. The polymer stock pinches sometimes.

So recap,

Glock 9mm
Kimber 1911
Snub nose and 6" plus barrel revolver (? Caliber)
North American arms .22 mag revolver
AR platform rifle
Winchester SXP 12 gauge
Marlin 30-30
Good 30-06
And last I agree with daizee about the bolt action .22 but mines a mag.

That's my list based on what I've used, heard, read, and the few I own.

Thank you for your consideration!
I can't wait to see what the prize is!

Went shooting today. One guy had just ordered a Desert Eagle .50ae with the WMD finish but the one he got looked terrible so he was trying to exchange it so he didn't want to shoot it. But I did get to shoot his 1916 Luger as well as all this that belonged to our other friend.

I had my .357 GP100 and some TulAmmo, the fired cases expanded to the point of being stuck in the cylinder so don't buy that stuff.

back when I did CASS, my 2 & 2 was a pair of Ruger Biseley Vaqueros and a Browning 1892 all in .44 mag and a 1920's (we think) vintage external hammer 20 Ga SXS.

I'd agree with that. Definitely more accurate than I am.

I liked it more than any other similar sized gun i shot. Plus the slide is silky smooth and again light compared to other guns.

Not bad at all! It's a fun little rimfire, isn't it?

Did he get to shoot the scattergun - or just hold it?

Yes it is loads of fun! My wife can ping golf balls with it @150 yards all day long.

No he didn't shoot it. I only had buckshot and slugs that day and he was pretty intimidated at how it rocked his mom! Lol

We shoot when we camp sometimes. Not when we're in a state park or national forest though.
My comment was based on the kids happy faces...seems that they had a lot of fun, as parent, nothing better that when the kids enjoy doing what they love.

Probably wise. I shot my dad's 12 gauge at 9 years old. Once. Actually haven't fired it since, even though it now lives under my bed.

My girl had a ball with my.38 and a friend's 9mm one day camping last year, but I still can't get her out to the range with me.
Hopefully soon.
