Beckerhead firearms

Amazon set the wrong scope. Sent a 1-4 instead of a 4-14. Would have kept it except the one I ordered is worth $20 more.

my buddy Cliff picked up a "used" Win 86 in 45-70 a year ago at a certain "outfitter" store common to the midwest.
he was there to look at the pedersoli 71 and I found the Win on one of the racks.
the new gun clerk suggested he make a counter-offer (yes, they negotiate), which brought the price down to $500 less than the pedersoli.
I told him if he didn't buy it I was going to.
then he found out about their military discount which almost covered all the sales taxes.
the sales clerk at this point was turning a bit green - but not as green as when Cliff paid for it with his "club points".

Good thing he went for the Winnie...I've heard some bad things about the Chiappa/Pedersoli rifles
 
he calls it his "green stamp gun" and named her Esmerelda.
(his "Quigley model" sharps is Matilda)
 
Ha, ha, ha! "Waltzing Matilda".... carries a different connotation somehow. :D

We had to name our service rifles in basic, a-la "FMJ". Weird that I chose Charlene as well, but that was before the movie.... :p

Watched an AK Operators Union video and next thing I know I'm ordering the parts to finish off my M92 PAP. Ordered and ALG AKT trigger and an Ultimak railed gas tube. Had a Vortex red dot on hand but the dot is messed up so I'm sending it back to Vortex for fixing. Probably just going to run the stock wood handguard. Need to drill the rear trunion to mount the brace directly to the receiver so I don't have the thick plate under the pistol grip. Then I'll be able to mount the Magpul pistol grip I have sitting around.
 
Where the crap is Silverthorn at? He hasn't commented on anything let alone my list that I thoughtfully wrote up to help his top ten list along.

It's a big sandbox. I'm sure we could make room for him to come back.
 
well I did get snarked at and not a lot of replies so i was giving it some time. I liked the lists I got and the whys of the lists as well. They fall in line with some of my thoughts recently on firearms too. I wish I had more disposable income to spend on guns.

You could always eat roadkill. Saw a show on netflix about extreme penny pinchers and there was a dude that would grab fresh dead animals off the road. And he said he actually had to compete with people for it. Personally, I'm not above eating fresh roadkill but I am too lazy to go around and pick it up. Plus I'd probably burn more in gas than I saved on food. We should just hunt more.


Just a heads up but I saw a video from SHOT show on the ALG Defense AKT ak trigger and the price is going to go up. I just ordered one at the $50 price for my M92. Got one in my WASR10 and it's pretty nice.

I'm petty sure most gun owners have the same train of thought; well around here at least. Hahaha.

We all get snarked from time to time. At least you don't have an entire thread about ya. Hahaha
