Anyone have a size preference?
Well this was my idea I posted earlier...
Why not just go simple? How about a round screw on top container? Like a beefed up Skoal can. Maybe 3" or so in diameter and a 1/2" to 1"interior depth. Big enuf to hold stuff, but small enuf to fit in a back pocket. Water tight with an O-ring. Can laser etch a logo or sumpthin on the top. Simple but effective.
...not really a capsule, but things could be easily got to. Just throwing out an idea.
Thats a good idea but there is one small problem with that, a piece of round stock 3" diameter would cost a good amount, and being stainless is alot more then say aluminum.
If were going capsule I would say 1-1.5 diameter to 3-3.5 height/length.
How about a firesteel that looks like a pen and shoots sparks when you click it....![]()
My old lathe died....RIP
I'm going to be getting a new machining lathe and maybe a mill towards the first of February.
What I want to know is if you crazy beckerheads could come up with some ideas for all of us to have personal beckerhead gear, I have been talking with Moosez45 about making some firesteel capsules made out of Stainless steel/aluminum kind of like esee's fire kit, but with our own design.
We would come up with the design then I would turn our project and show pics to verify with everyone that its good to go.
Just a background for all of you to know about me.
I've been machining for 5-6 years now and have two certificates in maching (CNC Machining and Convetional Machining) I worked with almost every type of metal and love 6065 aluminum and 316 stainless.
The fire project will cost between 20-30 for each depending on our design and the metal used.
What do you all think
