Beckerhead Knife Making and Modification Thread

Got planz:

that's going to be a fun camp knife/light choppa.

Revisiting the American Leuku idea. This blank was cut at the same time as the original and has been sitting in a pile of shorts for several years. I dialed in the profile yesterday. Hopefully it won't be another 5 years!

Gonna be some sweet looking blades. I especially like the one on the bottom.

Thanks, I make "a lot" (for me) of those. That's my standard paring knife pattern. Makes a good B&T out of 1/8" stock. The reference holes are oblong because it's actually just the Hiker pattern squashed to 75% height.

I’ve had one of your hikers just over three years now; it’s a great knife, perfect for slicing and feels great in hand.

Wow, 3 years already! :-D
That's a series-2, IIRC (w/ two under-curves on the handle) vs. the series-1 to which the paring knife above is related..

I knew I bookmarked this on my phone:

Busy day!
Finished the first Haltom Mariner rigging knife w/ a tapered tang and first TeroTuf.
More pix in The Gallery: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/mariner-in-cpm154-and-terotuf.1918599/

Cooked and froze 3 AEB-L blades (just straightened 'em and they're back in for one more temper).
Also, Mr. Rock'n'RollKnife&Tool gave me several feet of grain auger from the brewery! It's just over 1/8" thick. Paring knives, Anyone? Everyone? Doesn't fit in my forge...

AuK-4.5 is done.
A couple more pix in the gallery (I need a slightly darker background for the indoor photo stage!):

Finished up another Birudashi (clean pic in The Gallery) and then clumsily went about forging a wedge-spring from a bit of grain auger for this handle-finishing vise Mr. M gave me (he made one for each of us). He left the wedge-spring as an exercise for the bladesmith... Straightening the auger was as much fun as Vik predicted. Next time maybe I'll try to smash the coils flat, re-heat, and then pull-unroll them on a pole? The coil doesn't fit in my tiny forge-hole, but there's always the kiln if I'm already running a heat-treat.
