Thanks! It's nowhere near professional, but I'm satisfied with it. If I get motivated again I will smooth out the curve of the clip and polish the uncoated areas.

It definitely feels less like a chopper and more like a fighter now. Still heavy toward the tip, but noticeably lighter and more balanced. I chopped through a pallet earlier, and cleared some brush at work, and it seems to still chop reasonably well. Maybe its transition to more of a fighter can be an excuse to get the 9 I've been hankering for...

stopped here to see if I like this better than a straight clipped bk4.

Input?

I also stopped about there, and thought it was pretty cool. Kind of bolo-esque. I say keep going though ;)

I like it a lot, ALLHSS!

RotK Extended was always the one with scenes I was surprised they cut from the theatrical. Still haven't watched any of the Hobbit movies though.

Thanks!

I agree. But then again, when I watch the extended editions I always find myself wishing they had made extended versions of the extended editions haha

Well, they're... different. Lots of added/modified stuff. LOTS of cgi (unlike LotR where much of it was makeup, prosthetics, and real weaponry/armor). Still, they're entertaining. If you want to watch three quite long fantasy/adventure/battle movies, you'll probably enjoy them. If you want a true-to-the-book retelling of the magnificent story of The Hobbit, I'd skip them.

Looks good, ALLHSS.

Did the same thing to mine a bit over a year ago - without stopping at the "rounded clip" stage.....

I added some swedge back in, but it ended up a little "faceted"...still chops like a Machax, tho.

I really like these BK4 mods. Makes me want to make one similar, but 50% longer with a higher grind!

not a crazy mod or anything but I added some rosewood scales to my 15 today. Was wandering if there is any maintenance that should be done to these scales in order to keep them in good shape?

That is choice!
I don't love phillips screws, but the scales are gorgeous.
I'd oil/wax them regularly with Howard's butcher block treatment, sno-seal, or turtle wax.

Ah ok thanks. Yeah I was thinking of getting some brass hardware sometime in the near future

Posting my custom BK11 scales from repurposed tweener scales by request of granitestateofmind... :D:thumbup:

And it still fits in the AZwelke sheath I have for it...!

(paracord dealie is not permanent, just there as a test)

Note: Other mods are gimping added to the spine and towards the tip and ground down guard a little to make room for my index finger.

These mode aren't anything special but I stripped the coating and added some Bocote scales. I like how it turned out.

i want to get my 17 a very light regrind.

how so?

Did some hand-sanding tonight to prep something for a future heat-treat. One more to make a whopping batch of 2. And that's behind another 3 pieces of stainless already ready to cook.

i guess maybe i've never posted this in this thread. i'm sure i've posted it on this forum before. but, this thread seems like a reasonable spot for it. this is a Bk16 with homemade burlap handle (carbon fiber pins and coyote brown G10 liners). i did a CA seal on the handle.

it ain't perfect. but, it doesn't have to be....i'll be keeping this one. :D

the handle is one thing, but i can really appreciate how sharp i can get this knife. love the blade.

Made at the Ethan's house over the last weekend, a collaboration between XeroPoint Industries and Berserker Labs, one of very few knives to be started and finished at an actual gathering (this one saw more than a couple actually getting completed), this little pointy bit of 1084 was forged out on the legendary pink anvil (no kidding, an actual pink anvil) then finished up on the KMG. Gave it a little bit of love when I got home, and a better kydex sheath and here she is.

Right on, Derek! Nice work.

I still haven't finished the one I started at the spring gathering.

My newly acquired bk16 with it's much more edc'able factory sheath..... Well just until the patriot leather comes in. Can't wait. This will certainly do for now though. <br />
