This guy probably weighed a buck forty soaking wet. I can't fight a gun, but I could have taken him down in a hot second. I wasn't intimidated by him in the least bit. You could tell the cashiers were very nervous by him though. I think he was probably either going to hold the place up, or, was scoping the place for a weak victim to rob as they went out. Not sure what the dealio was, but there was something about to go down.

A few years ago, I had a car full of guys pass me on the inside corner of the road. (They put 2 tires in the ditch to do it) Then they turned their car sideways blocking the county road. All 4 doors opened, and they got out. I turned off my headlights, turned on my interior light so they could see me. I let them see me pull out my pistol and flash light and get out of the car walking towards them.

They decided I was a crazy whiteboy they didnt want to mess with and left without ever saying a word.

I refuse to be a victim.

That is a "Whats my stuff worth to you? Cause your gonna pay for it." Kinda moment. MOST criminals like that are bullies, and we all know most bullies are cowards.
Real criminals who aren't cowards are also smart enough to realize when the risk outweighs the potential gain.
That is exactly how you handle people like that.

I like the way you operate Josh.

Your story reminded me of the time I was with two friends and we were trying to find someone's house we were supposed to go hang out at and we kept driving around this neighborhood looking for it. There was a group of guys in front of one of the houses (aging between 15-20, so more like boys) who seemed to think we were 'cruising their neighborhood'. Well after a couple passes they apparently hopped in their car and did exactly what the car in your story did to us on a side street. Completely blocking the road, they all hopped out, except they all had either a baseball bat or golf club. None of us had a gun and we were not about to fight 5 guys with blunt objects with our bare hands. So as they started to charge the car I simply charged the car at the closest member of the 'gang'. He hopped back, so I reversed the car 10 feet and then charged back at the next closest guy. I did this two more times, each time stopping right before hitting one of them with the car (by virtue of them jumping out of the way). They got the point and backed off, simply staring at us angrily as we reversed the car for the last time and drove back the other way down the street.

On a lighter note, here's a quick pic I snapped of some provisions last night at 'Game Night' at a friends house.

The pink drinks have nothing to do with the scotch, they were some vodka concoction the girls came up with. You don't even want to know what they called them.

Do you any you guys know where to get some good shemagh's? Also now that I finally have a bag for patches, are there any good places to get patches?

I got mine in Fallujah. I dont know what brands to suggest here, but you want one that is large thin and 100% cotton. Mine is thinner than a bandanna and probably 5ft by 5ft rolls up to about fist size and I keep a ranger band around it in the pack. I have another one or two but they are the red Sunni ones and I havent used them at all.

Agreed! I got the civilian colors while there and in Jordan. The tacticool ones I've bought through US Cave and surplus stores are pretty good too. Things are useful as hell too. I keep one or two in my pack. Honestly, I used it just last night to wipe the fog off the inside of the Jeep windshield on the way from work.

maybe 20-25yrs ago when you owned a harley you were probably in a club (gang) and weren't one to tangle with, now anyone and everyone owns a harley and its just another bike on the road... nowadays tattoos aren't for the hardcore prisoners or gangbanger's , they're for everyone.. that's why you're approached by freeloaders 'freely' :D

So, what you're saying is..I might've gotten old? Yeah..I get your point. I used to ride bikes 'cause I didn't have money for a bike AND a car. Now people think if you have a Harley you have money. I don't have any money. I got inked below the shirtsleeves to keep people at bay, but now they strike up a conversation about tats in line at the grocery store. To quote Roland, "the world has moved on."
