Did you see RGIII? Great first game. I don't like the 'Skins, but I do like RGIII and hope he has a great season.

funny - I was eathing moonshine soaked cherries and drinking the juice last night shortly before crashing out in the hammock -- for some strange reason, that lightly rocking sensation was more pronounced, despite the lack of significant breezes. (the trail we hiked yesterday was awesome!)

looking good! I agree with the suggestion of buffing or oiling to darken the scales up.

I did not see that game. I'm not a skins fan AT ALL. I'm a Bears fan, and a Steelers fan.
 
I don't know if anybody cares, but I updated your friend Todd's site again. Added a model to the workhorse page, added an around the shop page, threw up another pic of the boss on the "about me" section. I'm not trying to get you to buy his blades, but this website shit is alot of work! I guess I want some sympathy..please note it's 11:22 on a Sunday night. The wife and baby have been snoozing for 2 hours, but Todd beats me if I don't complete my homework.
 
mmm, got my new grill assembled. charcoal magic. mmm, mmm, mmm. food.

1.5 gallons of rose hips, 1.5 gallons of autumn olives, and probably 2 gallons of these LARGE delicious crab apple things. jams, jellies? mmm...

I'm not a Skins fan, but I liked RGIII in college, so it naturally goes into the NFL with me liking him as a player. Just like Peyton Manning. I like him as a player, but I don't like the Broncos. (I'm a Raiders and Bills fan) There are several players I like on teams I don't. It's odd to cheer for a player on a team you don't necessarily like.

Very nice. Man of many tallents I see. Have you ever made a chess/checker board? I've always wanted to make a custom handmade chess set. I'm not sure how to make the board.

Thanks, RB. That's one of my paring knives - that one is actually *mine*. Heh. A2 & dymondwood handles.

Haha, Todd, you flatter me. You're looking at the extent of my woodworking skills. Oh wait, I made a hatchet-shaped wooden mallet once. It's too heavy to swing.

These three pieces of wood are just laminated together on a flat surface with wood glue and clamps. Then trimmed to matching length on the little bandsaw after the glue is dry, and sand from 80-220 with a random orbital sander out on the porch. Some mineral oil is the only finish. The walnut ends are thicker than the cherry, so they provide a little lift, and there are no-skid adhesive rubber feet on the corners underneath.

I'd go about it the same way for a chess board, probably in rows, then laminate the rows together. Tricky to get 'em all lined up properly. Or you could laminate 64 pieces of lumber together and just lop boards off the end wth a huge saw. :D
 
Nice cutting board Daizee! I'm really starting to love walnut for knife handles, cutting boards, and a lot of other stuff. Simple, tough, American. Can't beat that!

I'm beat today, hopefully some work gets done. Hiked, climbed and fished with my son Thursday-Sunday and the weather turned against us every night. Still, lots of fun was had and I've ignited a huge interest in rock climbing in him.
 
the mantis on the screen didn't like the taste of the beetle we offered it on a leaf - spit it out pretty quickly after snatching it.
gotta find something else slow-moving.
