Beckerhead "Spartan" Fitness Challenge GAW Round 2 is Live!

2.5 miles on foot today, so my total is at 13.47. I haven't added in the pushup stuff yet but dang, my upper body is sore!
 
MYB: +3 miles on the treadmill = 26
BSP: +1.5 = 16.5 + 1 After work triceps! = 17.5

MYB: +2 = 28
BSP: +2 = 19.5

Changing up my morning working for less time on the treadmill and more time for bodyweight exercises now that I can do more then 20 without being completely exhausted.
 
25.729 + 0.5 = 26.229 BSP to date.

Round 1: 150 light reps during jits warm ups. 7 rounds of 4 minutes for sparring, with a 30 second rest in between.

Round 2: deload overhead presses, plus pull ups and chin ups.

182 light reps = 0.91 BSP
42 medium reps = 0.42 BSP

1.33 BSP for the day.

26.229+ 1.33 = 27.559 BSP to date.
 
Did day 2 of week 3 tonight. Couldn't get to the max of 19 tho, failing at 17+. Wrists have not ever been flexible, and I have some shoulder impingement that makes my hands go numb when cycling and other occasions when I have to hold my hands up for any length of time. Anyone ever use the "perfect push-up" rotating handles? Thinking about maybe giving them a try. Gotta try and get a video, maybe y'all got some pointers. I don't mind pushing it , but push-up seem to hurt joint-wise in a way that it seems they shouldn't.
 
Have you tried in a punching position rather than palms down?

Also, you can make handles on the cheap using PVC pipes. They don't rotate, but they do take a lot of pressure off the wrists.

Taking this weekend off to rest. Got two days away on a vacation with the wife :) going to have some fun and start it all again on Monday (or Tuesday)

Did some laps in the pool today! 2.24 + 13.47 = 15.71. I am such a slow swimmer haha. I am getting pretty good at my doggy paddle though.
 
Week 3, day 3 (column 2) push-ups. Still didn't make the max at the end....but I was closer. Missed it by 1 (more like ½...got halfway up and just couldn't finish it) so maybe that's progress. Shot my bow this afternoon, which seems to add to the shoulder pain a little. Mostly I was surprised that I was able to do ANY push-ups this evening. Motivation at historic lows, for some reason or another. Gotta keep it going, tho!

Had the case of the Mondays and skipped jits :thumbdn:

Kettlebell metcon (3 Tabata sets) for 376 light reps warmed me up for my deadlifts. Additional 10 light, 10 medium, and 10 heavy reps for deadlifts.

386 light = 1.93 BSP
10 medium = 0.1 BSP
10 heavy = 0.2 BSP

2.23 for the day.

30.879 + 2.23 = 33.109 BSP to date.

got 3 miles in today, but dang I messed my hip up again :( I don't understand what's wrong. Anyway, I'm going to have to swim more I guess. At least I can still do pushups. also are we supposed to be keeping our points separate? I think I'm doing this wrong.

Afternoon kettlebell metcon and powerlifting for:

290 light = 1.45 BSP
10 medium = 0.1 BSP
10 heavy = 0.2 BSP

1.75 BSP for lifts.

1.4 + 1.75 + 33.109 = 36.259 BSP to date.
 
Maybe it was the other activities I did today, but I barely got through the main set of week 4, day 1 - and then gassed on the last bit. Could only get 17 out of the 25+ I was supposed to do. Started off with the new handles I got today, but they seem to make push-ups harder....finished off without using them. Good thing I didn't spring for the "Perfect Push-up" rotating ones.....

Gonna try and stick with column two for Thursday, but I guess I'll have to dial it back if I can't complete the sets. On the positive side, I'm doing a shitload more pushups than when I started a month ago - so thanks again, CF, for the incentivization.
Oh yeah - 33 mile bike ride today bringing my MYB total up to 51.6 so far for November.
 
Yeah, the pushup bars will make pushups much harder, because you're doing a larger range of motion. But it's probably better for you. Nice job on the MYB. Looks like you'll be at 100 points easily by the time December 31st rolls around.
