Beckerhead "Spartan" Fitness Challenge GAW Round 2 is Live!

Yeah, the pushup bars will make pushups much harder, because you're doing a larger range of motion. But it's probably better for you. Nice job on the MYB. Looks like you'll be at 100 points easily by the time December 31st rolls around.

Yeah, except for it is getting colder and colder and riding my bike for 30-35 miles at a whack is getting less and less appealing the more layers I have to put on. Prolly start hitting the pool again soon for the MYB. It's warmer than outside, and lighted.

Only 175 light reps during jits, but damn we had some nice drills and sparring today.

276 light reps and 15 heavy reps during metcon and powerlifting.

175 light + 276 light = 451 = 2.255 BSP
15 heavy = 0.3 BSP

2.555 + 37.656 = 40.211 BSP to date.

Pool this evening, has killed my ability to do the push-ups I was supposed to. Gonna hafta figure out something. But I have 55.6 MYB points, at any rate.

MYB: +3 yesterday running around Niagara Falls = 31
BSP: still 23.5 :D

Vacations are so much worse then regimented daily schedules!

MYB: +4 mile run today after dropping the kids off = 35
BSP: +2.5 =26 - did my push-ups, and sit-ups. will edit later if I get a chance to do a triceps workout later!

Okay got my points all sorted out as of today:
BSP=5.98
MYB= 20.24

The last couple of days I've been sick, bleh. I haven't been sick in ages. Anywho, good news - I'm getting a stand up desk at work, which will actually help my effed up hip! Sitting makes it hurt the worst. I'm definitley bummed about the lack of working out I'm getting done, but I'm going to keep doing what I can do without hurting myself. Going to the pool with one of my friends Monday!

Sorry about the hip. But....pool=excellence for nearly everything that ails. The pool was the ONLY place I could go after back surgery. Saved me from sure madness.
As for the working out: better to take care of yourself and NOT do MORE damage than to live up to some internal pressure of what you *believe* you should be doing. If the hip says "don't, please" then don't.

I second GSOM. Please nobody hurt yourself on behalf of this contest. I'm also a bit sick, but have been getting a fair amount of exercise through my KM classes. Pool is great. Exercise bands aint bad for low-impact exercising either.

In other news, I got my shop almost finished getting setup. Will finish it this week, if all goes well, and begin grinding on some projects. I'd like for those of you who have entered the contest to PM/email me your thoughts about what your perfect fixed blade knife might look like, if you happen to have such thoughts.

45.431 BSP to date.

200 light reps during calisthenics and warmups during jits.

12 heavy and 260 light during powerlifting and conditioning.

460 light = 2.3 BSP

2.54 + 45.431 = 47.971 to date.

Had a back injury this past week, so I've been out of commission. Don't want anyone to mistake my absence on this thread for me giving up. NOT happening :)
.....well, yet anyway. Hehe

So true. It bothers me though, I feel like I'm 80 or something. Hip problems? What the heck!?! gah!

So... do you feel angry when you're injured? I'm having a very hard time not raging around the house because I feel broken. Lots of things are being cleaned though lol.
