Criteria for joining? We still haven't settled on anything, yet. I'll throw some ideas out there, feel free to comment on them

Own a Becker Blade (duh), and post at least one pic in the Becker forums
20 posts of value in the Becker forums, not just +1 or yeah, I like it too.
Compete in at least one *Becker Challenge a year.

*Becker Challenge-something we devise or setup ever so often to have someone use a Becker for something, ie. Build a shelter, Make a Fig 4 trap, Sharpest Becker Contest, Name that Blade, Make dinner with a Becker, best handle wrap, Best looking Becker, you know sumpin' like that

Benefits- Beckerhead Number, Becker patch, A Beckerhead sig (for Goldies), a yearly give away of something, like a Becker knife, sheath, Gold Membership on the forums, stuff like that

I think the Becker challenge is a sweet idea. Maybe twice a year or something, depending on how hard and time consuming the challenge is.

I love Becker knives enough to actually participate in something like this.

I really hope something comes of this, this time around.

Well, it never really went away. I was kind a waiting on DB to get some graphics, and Bladite to say, "Go for it".

I would think that Ethan would have to personally sanction this thing (in a post) perhaps, or at least verbally to Bladite. DB would then be cleared with a host of helpers (aka Beckerheads) for takeoff. Ultimately, though, 'The Man' has to pull the trigger.

I'm supposed to be having coffee with Ethan on Monday, to kick around some ideas, so, we'll see. I do really want to get the Beckerheads rolling, but, we all need to band together like Beckerheads, and roll. We need to be courteous to our hosts, Bladeforums, and our Mod, The Gentleman of Leisure, and not overstep our bounds. Once we get organized and have a clear, precise gameplan, I think "The Man" will show his hand. Just sayin'. Moose
 
Agreed. This has been a long time in coming and hopefully the momentum will continue to build as visitors to Bladeforums see what is going on here.
 
Absolutely. I think there are alot of "closet" Beckerheads out that that will step forward once we get it going. Beckers are, by far, the best buy for the money. There are alot of them out there. I think the "Becker Challenges" will be what draws them out. Challenge someone to do something with a Becker knife, and they will respond. I made a Fig 4 outta toothpicks with a BK2. Top that. That kinda thing. Becker knives are THE knives. Alot own them, but they have no where to go to feel apart of something.

I think the whole things ghey to be frank but to each his own.. I'm game.. we all want to belong somewhere right?? why not with one of the best manufacturers in the business??

I only have one, but I alone am not by myself..................
 
I'm excited to see what happens on Monday. Given the care and personal attention us Beckerheads have gotten from Ethan and Ka-Bar I'm sure this will go over well!

I get dibs on #79!
 
Well, this sounds interesting and a lot of fun - I'll have to work on my meaningful post count.
I had a BK7 - and gave it to a friend who needed a good knife.
I also had a BK1 - but traded it to someone who really wanted one. Unfortunately for me, the "dogbone" scales don't fit my hands well, and I didn't want to make new scales for the Brute.
I frequently put BK&T blades forward as "best bang for the buck blades".
I have a pair of BK14's on the way from Patriot, so by the time I meet any post count requirements, I'll should have at least one decent picture of the blade in use.
 
I spoke with Ethan today about the Beckerheads, and his main objective is get togethers. We get together a couple times a year, maybe go to Blade, or a local gathering (local to most). Now all Beckerheads don't live in the same state, but Beckerheads in the same area can get together.

Update to the criteria:
Your Beckerhead Picture must have you in it, not just your hand.

You must have 100 posts Bladeforums wide, and at least 20 in the Becker forums.

Compete in at least 2 Beckerhead Challenge a year. If I get this thing going soon enough, the first Beckerhead Challenges will be small, but cool. They will center around holidays. I am going to try to have at least 1 Beckerhead Challenge a month.
November, carve a Thanksgiving Turkey with a Becker.
December- cut your own Christmas Tree with a Becker.

There should be 2 BECKER CHALLENGES a year. These are NOT Beckerhead Challenges. These will be based on a Challenge from Ethan. Competing in a BECKER CHALLENGE will count as your 2 Beckerhead Challenges.

I am going to see about getting some gear (hats, patches, tshirts, beer coozies, etc.) in the future. Go easy, as most of this stuff will have to come out of my pocket, and its kinda small right now.

Please feel free to post more ideas, but we need to keep this doable. Some folks will feel that this is too much. Please post your objections as well. The idea is to not be the Rat Pack, but the Beckerheads.

There should be some definite movement after this weekend, and a starting enrollment into the Beckerheads, with issued numbers. Graphics will be forthcoming from DB, so, we'll see, just keeping you informed. This has not gone away, we are stillw working on it, its just not moving very fast right now. Moose
 
If I join will that make me a Beckerhead Rat Packer, a Rat Packin Beckerhead or a Becker Packin Rathead??? :confused:
