I just really like the look of it is all. I collect as a hobby so not all have to be purpose built.

Not much use, really, mostly esthetics. Small benefits are heavier and stronger tip, and it being easier to choke the knife spine with thumb or full hand closer to its front.

There are some fighting techniques where the harpoon helps to hold the knife spine under your ellbow (Keating, Szabo), but I don't have use for these.

these knives turned out great! They're far from perfect, but I'm really happy with how they came together and I really like them
