These photos are from Mr. Patton. Anxiously awaiting returning to the states for it.
I will update with a video and stabundate the air next week.
Here's an example of the inconsistencies with Busse handles, that I've mentioned before.
I agree with what you are saying. My understanding is Busse looks for different handle and blade types/shapes to offer a variety of blades to folks. CPK has their handles dialed in and they are good to go and just have leisurely sales and pre-orders.Here's an example of the inconsistencies with Busse handles, that I've mentioned before.
All 3 blades have recognizable similarities. The 2 handles on the left have recognizable similarities. Why is the handle of the biggest blade less secure/ergonomically shaped?
When you look at the CPK family photo posted by dericdesmond; with the exception of the potato knife, skinner and K18, you can see the similarities in the handle designs in all the other CPK models, as they're iterative evolutions based on intended use (and further refinements).
The handles of the various Busses I once had, were all over the place. The molded thermoplastic handle on the B10 (similar to the 2 handles on the left) were the most comfortable, but some of the handles on the others?
With CPKs, you can pick them up blindfolded, and simply from hiw the handles feel, have an idea that the various knives and choppers were made by the same folks. Not the case with the Busses.
Bought a Zaan in Magnacut from Kevin yesterday. Everybody needs at least one CRK, right ?
I am a lover of well designed handles. I picked up a new DT-12 thinking it might be a fun chopper. I like the feel of it but think the handle would not be great for any prolonged use. I have swung it in the house but doubt it will get any actual use. I appreciate knives that feel as though they ‘belong’ in your hand. I have found that chopping is much more efficient if you aren’t having to squeeze your grip in fear of losing ahold of the knife. Here's an example of the inconsistencies with Busse handles, that I've mentioned before.
