If I understand right, sk85 is basically Japanese 1095.

If you are considering WTG, note that they make many of their larger knives in both sk85 and also some other steel more similar to 3V/Cruwear/Infi/A8mod/etc.

I have WTG knives that use k329 and k340, and both come in sk85 as well (albeit cheaper and typically easier to find).

Yeah. I was actually looking at a cheaper WTG in sk85. Large blades in steels that I prefer aren't easy to find. At least not at a price point I'm good with.
I may end up going with a bark river, as much as I prefer not to.
 
Carrying these today. Hard to get a good pic (especially in the shade lol) of the Saber S grind on the Volunteer knife.

Feels different w/o carrying my DEK‘s as they’re my goto’s. I usually grab at least 1 CPK.
