Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

Someone should be a forum hero and source some upgraded drop-in hardware for those interested in them. I respect management's desire to keep them as is from the factory, but nothing says we can't embellish on our own.

Lorien teams up with a folder maker named Bing Bingenheimer now and then, who created this "Anubis" model. Because of where I live, I couldn't buy this knife, but someone else was lucky to get it, some super blue scales, and notice the "floating" backspacer from the same Damascus material as the blade. But the stars are those naturally blue scales, colored only by the minerals in the soil in which it was buried:

might be gettin one o them samsquantches here pretty soon...

I just traded my way into a Hinderer MP-1. This is an over built beast, and has a number of points against it, but it is really growing on me! As an engineer I like the machining detail, for one, and this thing has a perfect flipping action. I worked the edge to a really keen degree of hair shaving sharp last night. If Nathan does a folder, or ever re-casts the EDC with a wharncliffe/sheepsfoot, (a thinner version of) this is what I want!

"EON" by Jose Cabral de Braga

One of Canada's two best known, most important knifemakers, Quebecois Jose Cabral de Braga just finished up this wonderful piece. Known for his pieces, primarily the main swords and handles used in "Highlander" and "Predator" movies, he continues to produce some really out-of-this-world pieces such as this one, entitled "EON".

Here's something a little different, more toward the steampunk than anything else. Jose's first and only assisted opener, a one and only prototype. He is a genius when it comes to carving the titanium interiors and the visual aspects of the differentially anodized titanium areas. And small sections of the interior actually glow in the dark when in an unlit space. Somewhere earlier I added some drawings of what the final outcome might look like and this is the final result. I'll wait for some decent photography to show once the Blade show is over:

I'm liking the DFK Ti Backpacker right now as a primary EDC...
Custom ground with a high flat, the one on the scale features a swedge...
Carbidized edge = Aggressive, unrefined cuts + minimal maintenance...
Disappears on the neck as they carry under 1 ounce including sheath...

TommyGun,

I know this is off topic, but over time, I have gone from a hate to a love relationship for the graphics you post. They are on point to the subject matter every time. I marvel at how and where you grab 'em. Do you have a large. stored digital collection you draw from? You sure do add to the atmosphere here in a most excellent way. Love the work. Bob
