Besides CPK knives, whaddaya like?

Three from Malanika - all walnut on 80crv2 (the bottom two have red liners). The puukko has only been here for about a week, and I've already put it to work while doing some yard cleanup. It also saved me from some rather aggressive vines that were trying to take me down while I was positioning myself (with a running chainsaw in one hand) on a hill.

She usually sits besides me by my table, but today I decided to take her up to the local waterfall to see some elephants and giraffes...

Salem Straub made a khuk to my pattern from 80crv2- it's a great performer from what I've experienced so far

How are you liking the 80CRV2? Are you able to compare it against Cruforge V, and if not that then some Swamp 52100?
I'm actually liking it a lot, so far.
I can't compare it to CruForge V - I've never used the S!K 4.7 that I got in trade.
Any comparison to Swamp Rat products would be apples to oranges...it's hard to compare steel performance on totally different knives. The "Hunter" is just a shade over 4", reasonably thin at the spine, and built to cut. It is also one of the sharpest knives I've ever received. The RMD is a totally different knife, built more to withstand abuse than to excel at cutting (but I love it anyway)

I'll bet that is a cool blade!

That is a good point about the geometry difference. Your Hunter is way more slicey than a factory RMD for sure. My FFG version of the RMD, that son of a gun is slicey as heck, and that's what was bouncing around in my head when I asked. But of course, it's a custom shop version, so no good for a comparison. So much of the knife world is pay to play, and I'm sure I'll grab something in 80CRV2 at some point.

Found it I believe. Man I'm liking the new search features!

my buddy, Salem, just finished making this khukuri prototype to my design. Very faithful rendition, which I will likely send to Nate for evaluation should he ever express an interest in producing a khuk

I am definitely down with 80CrV2, though my only experience with it has been with a WK II Field Knife.

...trespassing into a dicey region in here known as the man-card purgatory...
Here is a more traditional, indoors shot of something I like. I forgot where I picked up the cobra D-guard. Trying to retain my man-card o_O ...

Thanks for that. I was familiar with the shorter version, but not the II. Nice lines on that larger model to my eye.

Lorien will certainly appreciate that D-Guard. You're back in the safe zone :)

Aerodynamic stabilizer cuts to keep the knife from yawing during flight when thrown.
The blade was made for slaying Sasquatch, I know I would be throwing it, no way I'm getting close enough to stab.

All kidding aside, it is an impressive knife albeit with an impressive price tag.
