Best $30 EDC Blade?

I like the Dozier folders from KA-BAR, myself.

I'm surprised it took until 1/2 way down page 2 for someone to suggest that. Kabar Dozier folding hunter, about $21 and worth a lot more.

SRM 710 and a VIC Spartan....together should run you about $30-35 and you get TWO knives....heh heh heh.

I don't own any small knives, but have had good luck in general with the less expensive Kershaws and Spydercos.

For about a month, I've been EDC'ing a Buck 112 Ecolite (in green). It's a lot lighter (weight) than the standard 112s,
feels great in the hand, and mine was shaving sharp out of the box - no need to even touch it up. $23.33 on
Amazon, and free delivery (if you can figure out how to spend another $1.67 to bring the order up to $25). There's
gotta be something else on Amazon you would want for a couple dollars...

Buck Nobleman (CF) $23
CRKT Drifter $22
Buck Small Vantage Paperstone $25
Not too big...not too small. Cheap, yet solid.

I personally have the SOG Flash I, Spyderco Persistence, and Kershaw Skyline. I have to say that the Skyline is my favorite. It is so light I can't feel it in my pocket, deploys lightning fast, and keeps a good edge. You can't go wrong with any of the three though. My SOG Flash I didn't have any blade play at all and locks up tight. The Persistence, however, had major issues opening and blade wasn't centered. When I opened it up, I found it was bone dry. But, after adding some 3-in-1 oil to it, it works perfectly. Your choice really.

Definitely a sleeper knife. If one handles one, you will instantly buy it. Best value in a under $30.00 folding knife out there. A close second would be the Ontario RAT 2 folder.

If the rat 1 is too big, go with the rat 2. I got one recently and love it! Small and light edc.

When I started my descent into knives here a few months back I chose the Spyderco Tenacious as my first knife. The build quality and fit and finish for the price really is pretty impressive. Sure you will be sharpening the 8cr13mov quite a bit but hey, the knife has to give somewhere to get the price down that low. Overall I love the ergonomics and feel of the Tenacious and it was the crack in the surface that led me to question what an even more expensive knife could be like. Suffice to say I have a few more knives at this point with more on the way.

The Ontario RAT II is exact same knife as the RAT 1 mentioned twice except 20% smaller. Sounds perfect... Black blade version is $28 on Amazon right now.

Another vote for the RAT 1 or 2. Amazing Taiwanese-made folders that you can easily find for <$30. I like high quality knives, and the fit and finish on these continually impress me.

May have to try that KaBar Dozier tho......
