Leaving a knife in your truck in the SW summer heat would be best suited to something like an Alox SAK . Lol , I once left a little radio in a USPS mail truck and it completely melted !
For many years I’ve had a Buck 110 of some sort inn my pickup and when I know I’m gonna be out in the sticks I’ll throw in a good stout fixed blade just in case even though I’ve never had an encounter where I really needed it. The 110 has done everything I’ve needed to have a knife for. My latest is the LT series with the gfn handle and cpm 154 blade smoke jumper.
That exactly covers the original reason for the post!! BTW, I went with a Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner. It' a discontinued model that BladeHQ still has in stock and it was $110 instead of $165. Decent price. Also, one of the things I didn't cover in my original post was that I am "first to call" for a local PD friend of mine if he has to put a dear down on duty. One of the myriad of reasons the knife needs to be kept in the truck.
Henry Beige
, I believe I've noticed this model Schrade knife suggested before, however, unfort.,
I am finding that it's discontinued, as well. -(?)

That would make sense. After Designer Brian Griffin severed ties with Schrade, the SCHF55 was still for sale for some time, but that must have ended as stocks ran out.
