Best Chopper for Vehicle Under $80?

I think the BK-9 is a good option because it's got some heft to it. It's a beast, and would serve well for a number of chopping situations.

I would recommend deciding what type of tool you are wanting.
If you want a knife that can chop then the BK-9 is hard to beat for the price - that would be my pick.
If you want a machete that can chop then the ESEE Lite Machete is pretty good, or a Condor18" El-Salvador would be even better and is only $20 before buying a sheath. (The ESEE Lite Machete is lighter than the El-Salvador being the same blade as the Condor Eco-Lite).
If you want an axe then I'm sure that there are plenty of axe guys here that can recommend one.

An axe would be the best chopper, but not so good for other tasks. A big knife like the BK-9 would be the worst chopper (but still decent) out of what you are looking at. A good machete is in between - good for chopping, but also capable of handling machete and knife tasks.

BTW
I love my BK-9 and also my ESEE Lite Machete and I'll probably buy a Condor 18" El-Salvador soon since I can use the same Condor sheath that I bought for the ESEE Lite. These are all good options.

what are you planning on chopping?

a condor el salvador or bolo machete would be excellent choices.

I've owned the BK-9 and it don't chop like my inexpensive ugly uncool no-fan-base-havin' Ontario SP8.

ED I know your still working on English, did you mean to say "decent" machete? I googled "dissent machete" and didn't find anything.

Go to sears and get a roofing hatchet with a hammer poll
Sharpen it
$25-30 OTD.

Kabar Kukri machete.

It's an incredible chopping tool and can serve as a large survival knife if needed.

I keep mine behind the seat in the helicopter all the time.

I have used my Cold Steel Magnum Kukri to hack down branches, baton wood and tool work like making a walking stick. Hell, I even use it to prod and stoke the fire. It is so great in fact that my wife demands to carry and use it. I might have to buy another one. Ha

I would stay away from a machete, they aren't meant for thick pieces of wood.

Why not just get one of those fiskar axes, they are supposed to be real good from my understanding.

All good choices. My choices are an OKC 18" machete w/plastic military sheath (about$35 for both), OKC Kukri, 1/4" thick spine, I love mine ($52) or my OKC SP8, also 1/4" thick & great sheath, it is one of my all time favorites ($52). JSYKnow, they all need to be sharpened & they all hold an edge for a long time, once razor sharp.

condor kumunga or hudson bay AND the CS SF shovel - should be able to get 2 tools well under your $80 mark.
