Best Chopper for Vehicle Under $80?

I can't believe no one has suggested a hefty, sharpened military surplus bayonet. It is the perfect low budget, throw behind the seat chopper.;)

My Condor Golok came today, and I AM AMAZED! For $60--including shipping--I am AMAZED! This machete has a very nice edge--sharper out of the box than some knives I've purchased and an even, highly polished bevel. It's not quite as light as expected (not tapered to the tip as much as I anticipated), but that's more of a pleasant surprise, since I wanted more of a chopper. And the ergonomics are just fine. Also, I expected an above-average sheath (based on the reviews), but this sheath is DAMN NICE! I am actually DELIGHTED with this thing! Of course, it'll never replace the smaller knives I carry but, if you want a big, beautiful chopping work horse, give it a peek.

Since I don't really get it I'm gonna ask what may turn out being either an exactly right or a dumb ass question. Did you just lay a bunch of fabric in a pile and them laminate it?? Also that tiger stripe pattern is even badder. Giving a Becker that old school Special Forces look makes it that much tougher.:p

Each slab pictured uses many many layers cut to size from the same sheet of material then laminated so each one is made from 100% layered, not like the mass produced G10 where the ACU is only a top layer... each slab of it's type will have its own distinct pattern to it, no 2 can ever be alike.

My BK9 chops like a beast. I did have to locktite the screws they kept coming loose.

If you want to break down big pieces of wood get the right tool for the job. Estwing makes a 26" camp axe for about $39 that would fit nicely in the cab of a truck. Why bother battoning when you can split logs with one swing at a fraction of the price.
