Best Chopper for Vehicle Under $80?

For a vehicle under $80? Why bother. You spend less than a hundred bucks on a car and its gonna just fall apart soon anyway. Not worth the trouble of putting anything in it.

Congratulations! You win the thread! :D:thumbup:

Why would you even mess around with the smaller chopper knives? Sure the BK9 can chop but it's nothing like a 3/4 axe or a machete. Get the Estwing or an Imacasa/Tram 18 inch machete. If it's for your car, always go full size. There's no point not to. I have a 2 foot long Imacasa Colima in my trunk.

My general line of thought. I keep a Gerber/Fiskars axe and a CS barong machete in my car. And a square point shovel.

Heh' heres my choice for you if you gotta' flip out with some road rage:
Jk, be safe

BK9 is considerably easier to carry than a 3/4 axe or machete. A full sized axe chops better too and if I'm processing wood at home, I'll probably reach for one, but in the field where I need something I can sensibly carry, the BK9 gets the nod.

I'd buy a ONTARIO KNIVES SP8 SPEC PLUS MACHETE for $49

MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
1095 High Carbon Steel black epoxy finish.
(Full Tang)
10" blade length
15-1/8" overall length
250" blade thickness (1/4")
Handle: Comfortable Kraton
Leather/Cordura Combination sheath system

Go Tramontina if you're going to go cheap with a machete. Costs less than the Wal*Mart one and is much higher quality. ;)

Hey Sweet, gotta know where you got those scales???

It was a laminated slab I made using 100% layered mil-spec ACU Digital camo back in 2008, the thickness is only 1/4" which is why the stock bolts stick out, if I make another set it will match the thickness of the BK-9 scales so the bolts are recessed out of the way... I think I have now made about 7 different 100% layered camo slabs for handle scales, just something different...

I think if I were in your situation I would take a hard look at KA-BAR's Grass Machete I know this is a monster of a blade however if it is not going to be carried and just left in your vehicle weight shouldn't be an issue.

Since I don't really get it I'm gonna ask what may turn out being either an exactly right or a dumb ass question. Did you just lay a bunch of fabric in a pile and them laminate it?? Also that tiger stripe pattern is even badder. Giving a Becker that old school Special Forces look makes it that much tougher.:p
