I would go with an LT Wright knife, or check out the exchange. I have seen some good ones lately, especially the ones by GL Drew that fit your needs.

If you're looking for all-arounders, I'd point you to the Benchmade Leuku and Cold Steel 3V knives, such as the SRK. I'm a sucker for 3V.

Malanika and other custom knife makers will probably run slightly outside your price range. Maybe @David Mary can help you out with that, his stuff might not be the fanciest, but they are built to be used.

That price range includes most bark rivers. I luckily have mostly positive experiences with them, especially their 3V. An Aurora or Bravo 1 in 3V and micarta will go a long way. Don't get their CPM154, I've read AND personally had crappy experience...

Good luck! Plenty of choices out there, theres not really a wrong choice.
Great to hear from a Bark River owner. I feel like on forums they get a lot of hate from guys who’ve never even owned one but read of the experience of others.

I’m looking to buy a knife within this price range to celebrate a significant milestone.

I’m looking for a fixed blade knife that if it were my only knife I could do everything with it. Hunt, cook, cut lemons, cut sandwiches, peel fruits, bushcraft (I won’t ever use it for battoning as I’m against using a knife to baton but that’s neither here nor there), you name it. I’m looking for a high quality steel that will stand up to most situations. Retaining a good edge, tough (possibly able to do light prying), scale & guy fish, cut steak, cut vegetables, cut feather sticks. I don’t want something too small or too large. I think 8.5” or so minimum and 10” maximum. For blade length I’d preferably want 4.5-5.5” and I’m looking for micarta handles.

I’m really liking the Bark River Aurora in 3V and have been impressed with reviews on YouTube. My only concern is that I believe 3V steel may be prone to rusting especially considering how I plan to use it, especially cutting lemons/other citrus fruits.
If you worry about rusting, you can cold-blue the knife, put a dlc coating on it, or put a patina on it with lemon juice and vinegar.

I like the Worktuff Mt Laguna for a general survival knife.

j. Marttinni makes a lot of great knives that meet your criteria:

I really like the look of this. Do they only do custom knives? I can’t seem to find a price for this knife.
Not custom.
More like mid tech. They release them in small batches here on Fridays.
Go look at their sub forum, here
You have to be fast. They are good knives, but have a cult following, so the same people buy All of them.......

That’s a bit off putting for me. I was hoping to purchase the knife for a specific celebration date so I don’t think that will work for me. I really love their work tho.

They seem to have them weekly quite often.

They sound like good folks, I wouldn't be surprised if you call them with a good story...... They might hold something for ya?

Can't hurt trying

I sent them a message and will try my luck. As a general use survival/all around knife I love it much more than the Bark Rivers I’ve looked at.

So many great knives in that range and application. I vote for a fallkniven A1 pro in laminated COS however I'd have a custom kydex sheath made for it, don't like the original sheath.

I'd suggest look for a blade blank and add your own handle and sheath. Lots of great stuff from Brisa or others. I got a blank in 80CRv2 from Kilrathi knives that I love and you can kit it out however you want.
