Best knife from this list

I like the look of the knife but I afraid to buy it because there are a little number of reviews/test on youtube and on the internt.
Everyone is telling me to get the Spyderco knifes but they look a little bit too gentle and I afraid that they could not handle the hard tesks.
Recon 1 looks super tough but not very sharp/can't hold is edge well.
and the HK has no reviews/field tests on youtube and I could not find a lot of recommendations to get this knife.

sharpness: Spyderco>Axis>Recon 1
toughness: Recon 1>Axis>Spyderco
Edge hold: I have no idea

what do you think?

No one that has ever held a Manix2 has called it "gentle". But seriously, just go with the one that speaks to you... they are all great knives and will do what you require :)

I think you need to just pick one and use it, because you are relying on strange information.

YouTube is uninformative.
Where are you getting this idea that Spydercos cannot stand up to hard use? Or that the Recon doesn't hold an edge? Or that it isn't sharp?!? That doesn't even mean anything.

It would be a million times more productive/informative for you to just buy a knife and use it than to keep reading silly information posted by random strangers on the internet.

The Axis speaks to me the most, but I don't know if the knife is sharp enough and can hold the edge well... same thing for the Recon 1
I AM SO CONFUSED

Knives are sharp. When you use them they get dull. Then you sharpen them.

If a new knife isn't sharp enough out of the box....you sharpen it. Eventually ALL knives need to be sharpened, so an initial sharpening isn't a big deal.

I had an HK axis and I wouldnt have hesitated to put it through some tough tasks. Plenty strong, good steel, good lock, BM build quality at half the price. My only reservation would be the fact that BM has recently discontinued the HK line, so warranty (parts and serviceability) on that particular knife may be short lived.

I use a plain G10 Manix 2 for work 5 days a week and has handled everything with ease. A slicey full flat grind is definitely something you come to appreciate. Its plenty tough too. For me the CBBL has a more confident feel than the Axis lock.

As it has been said, no poor choice here. Pick the one you like most. If you dont like it, sell it and move on to the next one.

Of those 4 the PM2 is my favorite.
I own several Benchmade Axis knives but not that particular one (my favorites are the 581 and the 913 Stryker, and that KH is somewhat similar to the 913). I own some older Cold Steel knives but have not handled the Recon. I own numerous versions of the PM2 and Manix 2.
For the most part they will all work for you. I generally don't buy lockback knives so that leaves out the Cold Steel for me.
I did a search to find out what steel the HK comes in and the one that I found at BHQ comes in D2 which I have had good luck with. My PM2s are in a range of steels from S30V to S110V, my Manix 2s are similar, starting at 154CM and going through S110V. For my use 154CM, D2 and S30V all perform about the same. From reading a lot I would say that the Benchmade Axis knives in general are popular, and the PM2 is probably the most popular of this group.

The recon 1 has CTS XHP steel mate. It will get a fine edge and hold that edge. Its a better steel than the one the base Manix has which is S30V. You must have been looking at reviews of older recons. The current ones have upgraded steels.

I have a manix 2 cruwear that carry daily. My large 21 sebenza with the new heat treat protocol sits in storage.

The edge retention, ease of sharpening, and ergos are better on my manix, and I prefer that in a work knife.

I think that I am going with the S30V PM2

or Manix 2 S30V?

Which knife do you think that is the best for EDC/Camping knife (and some hard use)?

HK Axis 14715
Cold steel recon 1
Spyderco Paramilitary 2/Manix 2

I have no idea which one to get
Thanks

PM2 (easiest list ever!)

There's a reason it's a classic that gets love from just about anyone in this hobby.
I think you should find out why....

H&K Axis 14715 for about $100 is a heck of a folder with D2 & G-10. You can get them in black or sand G-10 with or without partial serrations. There's also the H&K Axis 14717 with tanto instead of clip point blade.

Trying to keep this simple: The S110v Manix2 G10 is what I think you are describing. "Tough", "Sharp", "Edge Retention", "Hard use" ready. If you want something a little lighter and narrower in pocket, go with the S110v PM2. Just pick one, you can't lose here.

I have both a S30v all black and a s110v PM2, i like them both but the s30v is more than enough for light or hard use
The s110v is impressive but it is more a pleasure of steel geek that something you need To enjoy the PM2

Which would I choose? Well that's an odd question but I'll play along...
Pm2: massive edge eating choil
Manix 2: half the width of my pocket
Cold steel: made in Taiwan
HK: like holding a 2X4

Needless to say I wouldn't choose any and I've had them all already.
BUT...it doesn't matter what "we" think, your going to be the one carrying it. If we all liked the same knife we wouldn't have so many choices.
