Best knife you ever bought

yes! kershaw shuffle woodsman's pal Gerber paraknife Smith and Wesson Oasis Kershaw hotwire microtech OTF

So lets unpack that. You have a series of $15-$25 knives (the Kershaws, the Gerber, the S&W)...and a $200-300 Microtech OTF.

And the Remington Baby Bowie is the best of the lot. Even better than the Microtech.

You SURE you bought a MicroTech?

yes. got it off their website. The Remington was best in terms of low maintenance and ability to withstand heavy use.

Not at Smoky Mountain Knife Works. and Remington has stopped selling them to make room for new knives and other products. I have family who own them that say these knives are the best EDC knives they have bought.

I suppose a person would think that...until they bought a quality knife

Whiteknuckler is also a good knife company. as is united cutlery. Benchmade are also really good.

I shall play..... for *ME* a Busse ASH1 is the best all round and my favourite knife. It is a master of no single task but can do almost every task "well enough" and I am unlikely to break it... ;) :D I liked it so much I bought "more than one" .. :D Sure I have have "several" other knives that are better at specific things and some that probably get carried more but "if I could have only one".....

I have too many to list. Knives have been my work tools for decades. On the other hand, if the OP had asked which is your favorite then it’s an easier question to answer.

Favorite folder?

Favorite fixed blade?

Favorite multi-tool?

There are many threads here made over the years that ask those very questions.

Best knife I ever bought was was my first knife (inexpensive swiss army knock-off), probably at age 10 or so. I treasured it, and carried it everywhere, including school. Times have changed.

Right now my favorite
EDC folder is a BM M4 Bailout with a modified blade (to drop point from tanto).
Woods folder is a modified Spydie 110v Military (tip up clip and shortened to PM2 size).
Big fixed blade is a modified Scrapyard 1311 (micarta handle and clip point).
Smaller fixed is a 3v BK2-inspired in 3/16" stock - only knife I have made from scratch.
Defensive fixed . . . unsure
