Best knife you ever bought

My first 21 that's been passed along (sadly). Subsequent attempts at buying them didn't match the original I had in S30V. Maybe it's foolish nostalgia. Of what I still own it would be a 3V SNG. Sharpens up like a pencil and has yet produce significant chips (visible to the eye or catchable by the nail). Lovely cutting geometry and my favorite handle feel. I buy sell and trade a lot and aside from some outlandish offers ending up in my DMs, I've never had to urge to put this one up for sale.

For me it would either be my CRK Mnandi because of the fit and finish or the knife and the ease of sharpening the S35V blade steel. The other one would be my Keith Coleman custom in 154CM blade steel. That one because I visited with Keith and he is just a great guy. It was a real treat to visit his workshop and go over what I wanted.

I Love this knife.

I've gotten a lot of folders in the past 2 years, and while the $400+ range gives you a lot of really nice options not everything needs to cost that much to be a great knife.

As of late the Benchmade Mini Adamas is about as good as it gets, I like everything about it.

It’s gone everywhere with me for the last few years, beach ( near saltwater for 180 days a year ), fishing, backyard gardening, you name it. It’s small, fits in the pocket easily and the stainless keeps an edge with minimal maintenance. Just an overall great second edc.

Do you find it difficult not having it fall out of your pocket with no clip?

Not really. It’s a small knife, maybe 2 3/4 inches. Can fit easily in the watch pocket in jeans.

C'mon this is like picking a favorite child! It's the benchmade 943.

Zt 0550. It brought me back into knives. I’ve also carried a knife and loved them since childhood but the 550 started the addiction in adulthood. There was a time I scoffed at paying $200 for a knife, now...

One of my favorites is the Buck 055. It was a gift. Super small and convenient to carry. The 420hc gets very sharp super easily. As time has gone on and the more I sharpen harder knives (60+RC) the more I dislike 420hc however. It feels like a gummy bear when sharpening and does not hold its edge very long. That knife in a premium steel would be the bees knees.

This one, my design, superbly made by Stoil Manchev in Bulgaria (on BF's Knife Makers Market) :

The first knife that comes to mind is my Victorinox Compact. It isn't the most expensive, the most fancy, the most robust, etc. but it does everything I personally need out of a knife. I have Spydercos, Benchmades, Emersons, and a couple of CRKs but if I had to sell them all, I would and I'd be content with my Compact. Don't get me wrong, I like my other knives, but I tend to rotate them or not carry them at all due to weight, not appropriate for the situation (work), etc. Compared to the Compact that I always carry, which is why it's personally my best purchase.
